英汉思维差异对大学英语写作的影响

语言和思维关系密切,二者相互作用,相互影响,互为表征。英汉思维方式之差异,使中国学生在英语学习中不可避免地受到母语思维的影响。这种影响在英语写作中的措辞、句法、篇章等方面均有表现。本文着重分析英汉思维方式差异对我国大学生英语写作在词语选择和句子结构方面产生的影响,同时提出几点应对之策,旨在帮助我国大学生提高英语写作水平。     

An ecobehavioural analysis of interactive engagement of children with developmental disabilities with their peers in inclusive preschools

Ecobehavioural analysis procedures were used to examine the interactive engagement of children with developmental disabilities due to Down syndrome who attended inclusive preschools for 2 years. Compared with typical children, the children with disabilities displayed infrequent interactions with peers for the duration of the study. For the children with disabilities, interactive engagement was largely unrelated to the characteristics of class activities, while typical children responded positively to activities expected to promote peer interaction. The results are discussed in terms of the inadequacy of informal strategies commonly applied in inclusive preschool settings to promote interactive engagement in children with disabilities.     

Sexual abuse in the developmentally disabled: Dilemmas of diagnosis

Evaluation of developmentally disabled persons for physical signs of sexual abuse presents many challenges to the practitioner. This group is especially vulnerable to all types of abuse. A group of 35 mentally retarded females from a residential treatment facility was examined by the child abuse medical team at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center after one inpatient was found to be pregnant. Patients ranged in age from 13 to 55 years (median, 26 years; mean, 31.3 +/- 13.6 years). All of the women had some degree of disability, with 24 (69%) being categorized as profoundly retarded. No patient was able to provide a history. There were 13 (37%) patients who had genital findings we believe are consistent with prior vaginal penetration. Dilemmas which arose during evaluation included the significance of healed genital lesions in this population and the implications of the findings for the residential facility. While developmentally disabled persons need an advocate in the medical and legal systems, these patients can overwhelm the practitioner. Whenever possible, a team approach is recommended to decrease the work load and frustration and provide collegial support and affirmation of findings.

考察报告与典型经验调查报告都是了解总结他人典型经验,记载反映调查（考察）研究成果的书面报告,其使用频率都很高,社会运用很广。两种文体都属于调查报告的范畴,既有许多相同之处,也有不同。如不注意,容易混淆。试对这两种文体的异同进行精细化的比较,加以辨析、甄别,有利于文体的实际运用,更好地发挥文体应有的效用。     

论全球化时代“两制关系”本质对立与发展合作的辩证统一

在全球化时代,社会主义与资本主义“两制关系”的发展经历了冷战对峙向合作对话的转化．越来越呈现出了“本质对立”与“发展合作”同时并存的发展态势。这一方面是由于社会主义与资本主义的价值目标和运行机制的不同使之对立与生俱来;另一方面,由于历史发展的跳跃性,社会主义首先诞生于经济文化较落后国家,无论是在生产力发展水平上还是在社会发展的完善程度上都还比较落后,社会主义要取得最终优势还必须大力学习和借鉴资本主义的一切文明成果;再一方面,在全球化时代,面对全球性问题的挑战,“发展合作”将成为两制关系的一种理性的选择,并且社会主义替代资本主义的进程将在“对立”与“合作”的博弈中不断推进。     

Telephone Testing and Teacher Assessment of Reading Skills in 7-year-olds: II. Strong Genetic Overlap

In a companion paper, word recognition skills assessed by telephone using the Test of Word Reading Efficiency (TOWRE) were found to correlate highly with National Curriculum (NC) teacher-assessed reading ability in 7-year-old twins. This study examined the genetic and environmental origins of this high correlation. TOWRE and NC scores were both highly heritable and the correlation between them was largely due to overlapping genetic effects. These findings were obtained both across the normal range of reading abilities and at the low extreme, defined by scores below a 13.4% cut-off on either measure. TOWRE and NC scores may provide promising phenotypes for further study of the aetiology of early reading abilities and disabilities.     

西部地区旅游资源综合分析与开发对策

西部地区旅游资源十分丰富 ,具有类型多、质量高的特征 ,同时也存在分布分散、基础设施落后、信息闭塞等问题。本文对西部地区旅游资源 (主要旅游资源类型 )的丰度、分布密度 (面积相对密度和人口相对密度 )、类型和质量进行了较为系统的分析。分析结果表明 ,西部主要旅游资源总量占全国总数的 1 3左右 ,其中列入世界遗产名录的自然和文化遗产多达 8处 ,占全国总数的 34 8%。然而西部主要旅游资源的面积相对密度只有全国平均水平的 4 0 %～ 6 0 % ,其中森林公园数目仅为全国水平的 31 % ;而西部地区较高的人口相对密度则意味着较少的当地旅游客源。针对西部旅游资源开发中存在的问题 ,文章提出了一系列建议措施 :①资源开发遵循从点到线、从线到面的分层次的原则 ,形成旅游网络 ;②加强旅游资源宣传力度 ,改善信息闭塞的现状 ;③加强以交通设施为核心的基础设施建设 ;④大力发展与环境保护相结合的生态旅游。
