Lymphocyte dysregulation in coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) is a major contributing factor linked to disease severity and mortality. Apoptosis results in the accumulation of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in circulation. COVID-19 has a heterogeneous clinical course. The role of cfDNA levels was studied to assess the severity and outcome of COVID-19 patients and correlated with other laboratory parameters. The current case series included 100 patients with mild COVID-19 (MCOV-19) and 106 patients with severe COVID-19 (SCOV-19). Plasma cfDNA levels were quantified using SYBR green quantitative real-time PCR through amplification of the β-actin gene. CfDNA level was significantly higher in SCOV-19 at 706.7 ng/ml (522.6–1258) as compared to MCOV-19 at 219.8 ng/ml (167.7–299.6). The cfDNA levels were significantly higher in non-survivor than in survivors (p = 0.0001). CfDNA showed a significant correlation with NLR, ferritin, LDH, procalcitonin, and IL-6. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of cfDNA in the discrimination of SCOV-19 from MCOV-19 were 90.57% & 80%, respectively. CfDNA showed a sensitivity of 94.74% in the differentiation of non-survivors from survivors. CfDNA levels showed a significant positive correlation with other laboratory and inflammatory markers of COVID-19. CfDNA levels, NLR, and other parameters may be used to stratify and monitor COVID-19 patients and predict mortality. CfDNA may be used to predict COVID-19 severity with higher diagnostic sensitivity.  相似文献

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) is a cytokine involved in systemic inflammation during acute phase reactions. The current study was designed to investigate the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokine (TNF-α) along with the anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-10) during progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) from simple steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis in diabetic patients, and correlate the levels of cytokines with the progression of NAFLD. Fifty-two diabetic patients compared to 18 healthy controls were participated in this study. Based on clinical diagnosis, patients were divided into three groups: simple steatosis, NASH and fibrosis. Serum liver function tests, fasting blood glucose, bilirubin, ALT, AST, TNF-α, IL-10 and lipid profile were measured. TNF-α levels were significantly higher in NAFLD patients compared to control subjects with a significant positive correlation with body mass index and fasting blood glucose (FBG) but with negative correlation with IL-10. Serum IL-10 levels were significantly lower in NAFLD patients compared with controls. A positive correlation between IL-10 and HDL-C with concomitant negative correlation between IL-10 and FBG and triacylglycerides was found. Cytokine analyses showed that there was a prominent imbalance between TNF-α and IL-10 in patients with NAFLD, and this imbalance increase by increasing the progression of NAFLD especially in obese diabetic patients. TNF-α and IL-10 could be used in diagnosis and follow-up of NAFLD stages in a way to avoid liver biopsies in greater proportion of patients.  相似文献

Healthcare can be maintained well, when diagnosis is quick, accurate, cost-effective and painless. DNA and RNA based diagnosis may not reveal the right information for certain diseases. Identification and quantification of proteins and their folding mechanism are very important in diagnosis of diseases. Small quantities of proteins, which generally escape from detection and are responsible for the diseases, now can be quantified by protein nanotechniques which aids in the diagnosis. 虚拟现实技术能够模拟环境,建立多源信息融合的交互式三维动态视景和实体行为,具有沉浸性、交互性、想象性的特点。传统的动车组故障诊断教学多基于课本,缺乏生动形象场景,学生难以把握整体专业知识框架;教学资源匮乏,课堂多以教师枯燥无味讲授为主,无法交给学生,调动学生学习积极性。基于虚拟现实技术的动车组故障诊断教学可以提供动车组构造的虚拟仿真系统,三维构建动车组网络控制和故障诊断动态过程,使学生对故障部位、故障传输以及形成机理有身临其境般的认识,充分激发学生的好奇心和求知欲,活跃课堂气氛,课堂教学重心也会向学生倾斜,以产出为导向的课堂教学才能逐渐形成,最终改进教学方法,提高课程教学质量。  相似文献

目的分析和探讨良性颅内压增高(BIH)的诊断和治疗。方法 回顾分析101例BIH患者的临床资料,男32例,女69例。平均年龄35.8岁。平均病程3.9月。临床症状和体征主要为头痛、恶心、呕吐,视力减退和视乳头水肿,头CT及MRI有助于诊断。治疗措施包括激素、脱水药、多次腰穿、脑室持续引流或颞肌下减压术等。结果83例症状体征恢复满意或有明显改善(82.2%),无死亡。结论 对BIH进行早期诊断和治疗可获得较好疗效。  相似文献
