论罗马剧在莎翁戏剧创作体系中的独特地位——以《裘力斯·凯撒》为例

莎士比亚创作了四部反映罗马帝国历史的戏剧,却从未被划分为历史剧。自＂第一对开本＂始,莎学界便将此四部归类为悲剧。通过研究笔者认为,它们既不同于历史剧,又不同于悲剧,罗马剧在莎士比亚戏剧体系中担当着独特的地位,成为历史剧与悲剧创作的转折,标志着莎士比亚创作风格的转变,将其单独分类为＂历史悲剧＂也许是一种合理的尝试。     

面子理论在课堂教学中的应用

Face recognition under pose variations

In recent years, face recognition has attracted significant attention from the research and commercial communities. Because of the wide variation in face images, face recognition for real applications remains a very challenging problem. A large number of face recognition algorithms, along with their modifications, have been proposed over the past three decades. This paper presents a review of the typical algorithms that aim to overcome one of the main obstacles in the face recognition task, the variations in face pose. These algorithms are categorized and briefly described. Future research challenges in pose-invariant face recognition are also identified.     

Networked Commerce: Public Policy Issues in a Deregulated Communication Environment

Electronic commerce will generate a number of new policy issues, few of which are presently being considered. Lawmakers and regulators have been so focused on establishing appropriate rules for vendors and service providers that they have failed to consider the larger consequences that the ensuing network architecture may have for the economy as a whole. Examining the forces driving electronic commerce and its likely impact on network deployment given recent telecom reform, this article argues that the government should reconsider common carriage as a means of assuring network access in the future.     

The Social Embeddedness of Transactions: Evidence from the Residential Real-Estate Industry

Information and communications technologies (ICT) are becoming pervasive in the residential real-estate industry and their usage is affecting the work lives of real-estate agents. Drawing on data from a regional study of the residential real-estate industry in the United States, we focus on the disintermediation or, more accurately, the reintermediation of real-estate agents in the sales process. Using data collected from interviews, direct observation, and archival records, we examine how real-estate agents are (1) taking advantage of new ICT in their work, and (2) protecting themselves from others wishing to displace their position in the real-estate value chain. Our analysis of this activity draws on two contrasting theoretical perspectives to illuminate the roles of residential real-estate agents: transaction cost and social capital. The results of this study provide insights into the ways in which ICT are used to build and draw on the social relationships that underpin the actual transactions, to help guide the process of buying/selling a house, and to invoke expertise as needed.
