Dogma before diversity: the contradictory rhetoric of controversy and diversity in the politicisation of Australian queer-affirming learning materials

Abstract

This paper discusses contradictory imperatives in contemporary Australian pedagogy – the notions of ‘controversy’ and ‘diversity’ as they relate the subjects of genders and sexualities. It is a common view that both gender and sexuality are important organising features of identity, society and politics. Consistent effort is made in the Australian educational context to combat discrimination, prejudice against sexually, and gender ‘diverse’ people. However, the state’s commitment to diversity policies must be balanced with a secondary focus on appeasing those who are hostile to non-heteronormative expression, or who view such expression as inherently ‘political’ in nature and therefore inappropriate for the school setting. Australia has arguably demonstrated this dilemma recently in two notable controversies: an intervention in planned school screenings of Gayby Baby, a documentary exploring the experience of children in same-sex families, and media furore over the trans-positive All of Us teaching kit. Using these case studies, this paper explores the competing imperatives of controversy and diversity, commenting on the tendency for the lives and experiences of LGBTIQ people becoming consequently politicised. To do so, is arguably detrimental to the meaningful participation of LGBTIQ people as social citizens.

清末民初的画家较之传统的画家不仅在社会地位上有了本质上的提升,他们的艺术活动也有了更大的自主性。他们有了自己的活动空间,形成了艺术场域独特的艺术法则。民国初期“人体模特儿事件”折射出当时美术场域的相对独立性,画家们对艺术法则的维护彰显了他们文化生产的自主性,并且反映了当时中国知识分子社会地位角色的转变。     

Hybrid event based control architecture for tele-robotic systems controlled through internet

A new hybrid event based control architecture for tele-robotic systems controlled through the Internet is proposed in this paper. Different from the traditional event based control method, the new framework does not require every part of the system to be strictly event synchronized. Instead, it allows time referenced control components to be integrated into this framework, which makes it more convenient to develop Internet based control systems. Since there are two reference variables, time and event, in this architecture, how to coordinate these components with different references to keep the stability of the whole system is discussed in detail in this paper. To verify this new idea, an experiment was conducted to control the end effector of a PUMA robot tracking a continuous state trajectory given on-line by the remote operator. Experimental results confirmed the stability of such systems being controlled through the Internet in real-time.     

"何梅协定"后国民党内外政策的转变及其影响

"何梅协定"是1935年7月时任国民党政府军政部长、北平军分会委员长的何应钦和日本驻华北屯军司令官梅津美治郎达成的一个旨在谋求华北政权特殊化,为日本侵吞华北作铺垫的协议.它的出现在整个华北事变中具有标志性意义,完全暴露了日本帝国主义吞灭华北的阴谋,进一步加深了中华民族的危机.本文试图从"何梅协定"产生的背景、原因、影响以及国民党对此的反映等方面,对国民党从华北事变到国共合作期间内外政策的转变作初步的探讨.

The battle for the bid: Chicago 2016, No Games Chicago,and the lessons to be learned

This case provides information on the Chicago 2016 bid process and the efforts by No Games Chicago to prevent the city of Chicago from hosting the 2016 Olympics, and allows students to consider the bid process through a community development lens. After learning about the Chicago 2016 bid, students are asked to apply this information to a hypothetical bid organization, Houston 2028, and consider how to work with community organizations to maximize the chances of success for this bid. In 2009, Chicago lost the vote to host the 2016 Olympics, and after years of planning and campaigning, the loss came as a surprise and disappointment to many. One group that was not disappointed, though, was No Games Chicago, a vocal opposition group to the bid. No Games Chicago organized protests, public forums, media efforts and more in an effort to prevent the bid from being successful. After learning about the Chicago 2016 bid, students are asked to apply this information to a hypothetical bid organization, Houston 2028, and consider how to work with community organizations to maximize the chances of success for this bid.     

产品瑕疵担保责任问题研究

产品瑕疵担保责任作为产品质量民事责任的重要组成部分，为世界各国所普遍承认，该责任以产品瑕疵为基础，买卖关系成立以及产品在交付时具有瑕疵是该责任主要的成立要件；“修理”，“更换”“退货”，“赔偿损失”等是该责任重要的责任形式，我国关于产品瑕疵担保责任的规定体现在若干法律中，这些规定与美国，日本的有关法律规定在总体上是一致的，在责任构成方面的要求是完全一样的。     

“生产经营型”新型职业农民胜任素质的要素构成研究——基于行为事件访谈法

“三农”问题是国家发展战略中的重难点,培育新型职业农民是中国实现农业现代化的必然选择。基于行为事件访谈法对样本区域的35名“生产经营型”新型职业农民进行研究,在此基础上建构其胜任素质的要素构成。结果表明,“生产经营型”新型职业农民的胜任素质包括“从农动机、职业承诺、团队建设与领导力、市场信息搜集与获取、成本收益评估能力、模式创新力、关系资本积累能力、农人新思维”等17项要素。新型职业农民胜任特征编码具有较高信度,胜任特征能对绩优组和绩平组进行有效鉴别与区分,具有较高效度。因此,采用行为事件访谈法对“生产经营型”新型职业农民胜任素质要素构成进行研究也是有效的。
