多空间融合视域下学习环境及学习情境探究

互联网、人工智能、大数据、云计算、物联网等技术的教育应用逐渐走向纵深,使得学习环境发生了深刻的变革,亟需探究符合时代背景、面向新型学习环境的教与学交互理论,探究如何设计学习环境来应对新兴技术支持的学习情境。通过分析学习情境的基本特征,探究多空间融合后学习情境革新带来的学习环境设计原则的变化。基于新技术、新理念、新方法等对教与学影响的思考,最终提出学习情境的描述框架。学习情境是一种复杂的网络现象,基于互联网技术、人工智能、大数据分析储存技术等的应用,学习情境客观存在于虚拟环境中,成为一种具有目标性的长期存在的学习活动,借助互联网实现教学知识传播与知识共享,并可以实时进行学习分析、导航、评估、反馈、调节等,学习情境成为学习的连接器和促进有效学习的助推器。     

Enhancing the quality metric of protein microarray image

The novel method of improving the quality metric of protein microarray image presented in this paper reduces impulse noise by using an adaptive median filter that employs the switching scheme based on local statistics characters; and achieves the impulse detection by using the difference between the standard deviation of the pixels within the filter window and the current pixel of concern. It also uses a top-hat filter to correct the background variation. In order to decrease time consumption, the top-hat filter core is cross structure. The experimental results showed that, for a protein microarray image contaminated by impulse noise and with slow background variation, the new method can significantly increase the signal-to-noise ratio, correct the trends in the background, and enhance the flatness of the background and the consistency of the signal intensity.     

Computer-Mediated Coping: Exploring the Quality of Supportive Communication in an Online Discussion Forum for Individuals Who Are Coping with Racial Discrimination

Coping with racial discrimination can be a complex and challenging endeavor, because individuals often feel powerless and stigmatized. Social support can help people cope more effectively with racial discrimination. This study examines the type and quality of supportive communication in an online forum for people who have experienced racial discrimination by examining messages’ person centeredness and facework. A total of 1,203 messages from an online support forum were coded for support type, person centeredness, and facework features. Despite the sheer volume of support, most messages were only moderately person centered, and most advice messages did not adequately attend to targets’ negative face. Our findings uncover some of the benefits and limitations of online social support, and we discuss implications for online forum moderators and participants.

Probability output of multi-class support vector machines

A novel approach to interpret the outputs of multi-class support vector machines is proposed in this paper. Using the geometrical interpretation of the classifying heperplane and the distance of the pattern from the hyperplane, one can calculate the posterior probability in binary classification case. This paper focuses on the probability output in multi-class phase where both the one-against-one and one-against-rest strategies are considered. Experiment on the speaker verification showed that this method has high performance.
