Palestinian media landscape: Experiences,narratives, and agendas of journalists under restrictions

This study aims to increase our understanding of the dynamics of the Palestinian media and the conditions and circumstances in which they work, including both the conflict with Israel and the internal political strife within Palestinian society. It is based on the use of qualitative research methods and was conducted in two stages. First, we performed a mapping of Palestinian media outlets. Data on these Palestinian media outlets were collected online from the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Information website, the Gaza-based Hamas government’s Ministry of Information website, and statements published by Palestinian media outlets on their websites describing their affiliation and ownership. Second, to gain a more in-depth understanding of the dynamics and experience of practicing journalism in a situation of asymmetrical conflict, semistructured in-depth interviews were conducted with 25 professional local Palestinian journalists working for local media outlets in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. Through this study we aim to learn more about how groups shape and express their narratives and agendas through the media when restricted by the conditions, pressures, and limitations of asymmetrical conflict.     

实现地方本科院校向应用技术型大学的转型:必然趋势、问题及实践路径

地方本科院校向应用技术型大学转型是遵循分类办学的规律、解决地方本科院校面临的问题和挑战、缓解人才市场的结构性矛盾、促进地方经济社会发展的必然要求。实现地方本科院校向应用技术型大学转型面临诸多内外部问题。实现地方本科院校向应用技术型大学转型的切入点是明确内涵与特征,厘定思路,趁势而为向;关键在于清除体制障碍,突破瓶颈制约,创新管理运行机制;保障是加强专业和课程建设,深化教学改革;助推器是加强与行业企业合作。着力解决若干基本问题,才能在高等学校分类定位中突破障碍、顺利转型并持续发展。     

基于组合赋权的地方本科院校大学生综合素质评价研究

本文建立了包含思想政治素质、业务能力、人文科学素质、自然科学素质和身心素质的地方本科院校大学生综合素质评价指标体系,并运用熵权法和变异系数法对指标进行综合赋权,最后利用综合指数法对地方本科院校的大学生综合素质进行综合评价,以期能够为学生教育管理部门和高校的学生管理工作提供科学依据。     

地方志计算机数据库系统设计

为了更加有效地利用与开发地方志的文献资料与数据信息等各种资源,需要将传统的书本型地方志建成计算机网络可以识别的数据型文献。对地方志数据库系统建设意义、建设过程中存在的问题进行了研究,并提出了系统建设措施。     

明代湘西土家族土兵抗倭武术文化研究

明代嘉靖年间我国东南沿海倭患严重,湘西土家族土兵因调出征,奔赴千里之外的江浙一带抗倭。土兵英勇善战、运用"塔式"阵法连挫倭寇立下赫赫战功。土兵抗倭展示出了湘西人民的尚武与爱国主义精神和湘西武术的独特魅力,土兵武器与阵法的运用给明代军队、民间武术增添了色彩。土兵与各地客兵联合抗倭促进了各地域武术文化的交流与融合,夯实了中华武术体系。     

Teaching Assistants Talking

Local Authorities (LAs) in Britain traditionally employ Visual Impairment (VI) teams as integrative statutory Special Educational Needs and Inclusion (SENI) provision. Teaching Assistants (TAs) work alongside Qualified Teachers (QTs) in VI teams to support children and young people (CYP) with VI. The VI TA has a broad role in covering early years, primary, secondary and special school settings and their key duties can include implementing visual targets, providing sensory support, delivering touch typing lessons, to name a few. Based on systemic and work‐based learning theories, this article explores the learning stories of seven VI TAs who volunteered to participate in professional development focus group discussions between September 2014 and November 2015. The seven participants all work in the VI team of one LA in Cambridgeshire. The focus of the fortnightly focus group discussions were to explore the impact which eye conditions had on the education and learning of CYP. Participants were encouraged to engage in reflective writing about their new knowledge and how this may have changed their VI practice. Findings from qualitative data generated for analysis and interpretation demonstrated that most participants did improve their knowledge and understanding of specific eye conditions. Some participants benefited and changed their practice based on their newly acquired knowledge whereas some were not aware of any impact on their practice. Themes also highlighted constructive comments on how future professional learning for TAs can be improved. There are currently no mandatory training requirements for specialist VI TAs.     

高校图书馆无线局域网的建设

以厦门大学图书馆为例，结合高校图书馆特点、本馆建设经验和作者对无线局域网的认识，阐述以IEEE802．11b规范建立符合高校图书馆服务要求的无线局域网应注意的关键问题。     

策划行业特色专栏 提升期刊影响力

【目的】以《河北农业大学学报（农林教育版）》成功开办“农业高校专栏”的办刊经验为例,为地方高校学报发展和改革提供借鉴和启示。【方法】采取个案研究方法,在调查国内10所地方农业高校社科学报主要栏目设置的基础上,分析“农业高校专栏”的优势和可行性,并通过精准定位受众,以人为本和借助新媒体的运作理念保障“农业高校专栏”的顺利运作。【结果】“农业高校专栏”的成功开办增加了来稿量,提高了期刊的学术水平,拓展了稿源的广度和深度,扩大了期刊影响力,取得了良好的办刊效果。【结论】实践表明,地方高校学报在办刊中尽管面临各种困境,但分析自身条件和办刊优势,顺应时代发展潮流,一定能寻找到创新发展之道。     

地区电力长期负荷预测方法研究

负荷预测对电力系统规划和运行极其重要,本文论述了电力负荷预测与分类、负荷预测的基本过程。同时本文采用外推预测技术、单耗法和新兴交叉学科人工免疫预测法对阜新地区电力负荷进行长期的预测,并对实际预测结果进行了分析、比较。得出结论:这三种方法都适合于对地区电力负荷进行长期的预测,取三种方法预测的中间值可以得到相对精确的预测结果。     

A large-scale donor attempt to improve educational status of the poor and household income distribution: The experience of PEDC in Vietnam

In 2003, donors combined together in Vietnam to support the provision of quality primary schooling for 226 disadvantaged districts (about a third of the country). US$160 million was invested in infrastructure, materials and training across the 226 districts. The programme has been commended by donors and received good press inside Vietnam. Comparison of achievement surveys in 2001 and 2007 showed, however, that there had been a decline in performance in the targeted districts. This article explores various hypotheses as to how this could have happened; and in particular the increasing amounts spent by better-off households on their children's education.
