近代外国传教士在华办报活动及其影响

19世纪,西方资本主义殖民势力为打开中国闭关锁国的大门,以传教士办报为武器对我国进行文化渗透,传教士办报成了当时中文报刊的一大特色.这些报刊,主观上为殖民者的侵略而服务,但是在客观上也传播了西方的科技和人文知识,促进了国人的觉醒,其相对成熟的办报理念,为后来国人办报所借鉴.     

唐山市现用化学教科书(必修一)满意度调查

采用自编调查问卷,针对目前唐山市高中化学教科书的使用现状,借助层次评价理论,采用AHP处理模型,从教材的科学性、先进性、知识性、实验性方面系统准确地反映出学生与教师使用苏教版化学(必修一)的满意度,并据此提出教科书内容的编排和组织的相关建议。     

Decisional Regret Theory: Reducing the Anxiety About Uncertain Outcomes During Group Decision Making Through Shared Counterfactual Storytelling

People want to live in a predictable world, yet regularly face uncertain outcomes from decision choices. Here, a decision-making theory of communication is proposed. Faced with decisions, people experience anxiety as they anticipate choice-regret. The communicative dynamic of Decisional Regret Theory (DERT) is the production, sharing, and reconstruction of predecisional imaginary narratives that allow alternative decisional outcomes to be anticipated. DERT predicts a type of shared communication (counterfactual storytelling) under specific circumstances (anticipation of making a meaningful decision). It further predicts listener responses: (a) reproducing the story, (b) altering the story, (c) creating an alternative story, or (d) disconfirming the story. Exemplars of counterfactual communication during jury decision making are offered, together with a model describing the emergence of group counterfactual storytelling.     

FOREIGN OFFICE CONTROL OF REUTERS DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR

I disagree with Professor Putnis' claim that the Foreign Office instigated a leveraged buyout of Reuters in 1915. Putnis' thesis is questionable for several reasons. (1) It is at odds with a general unwillingness on the part of government to interfere in the affairs of private business. (2) The fear of a hostile foreign takeover was neutralized and there was no compelling reason to buy out Reuters. (3) It is improbable that the Foreign Office would have devised a plan to take over Reuters before other aspects of wartime mobilization, such as armaments, were decided. Instead, I argue that Reuters initiated an agreement with the Foreign Office to fulfil its strategic aims. Once this is appreciated, the long-term and significant effects of the buyout become apparent.     

Being First Means Being Credible? Examining the Impact of Message Source on Organizational Reputation

Research in organizational communication and public relations suggest that in times of crises, messages generated by the organization are most likely to positively influence stakeholder perceptions, whereas those generated by the press may have negative ramifications. Although this advice seems logical, to date there is little research that investigates this claim empirically and directly. Two experiments were conducted to explore the separate and combined impact of print and televised messages concerning an organization in the midst of a crisis. The findings offer empirical evidence that statements from organizations experiencing crises may offset negative stakeholder responses. Theoretical and pragmatic implications are discussed regarding these findings.     

The DDC and OCLC

ABSTRACT

This article highlights key events in the relationship between OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. and the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. The formal relationship started with OCLC's acquisition of Forest Press and the rights to the DDC from the Lake Placid Education Foundation in 1988, but OCLC's research interests in the DDC predated that acquisition and have remained strong during the relationship. Under OCLC's leadership, the DDC's value proposition has been enhanced by the continuous updating of the system itself, development of interoperable translations, mappings to other schemes, and new forms of representation of the underlying data. The amount of categorized content associated with the system in WorldCat and elsewhere has grown, as has worldwide use of the system. Emerging technologies are creating new opportunities for publishing, linking, and sharing DDC data.

清末报律颁布前后的报界反应

制定报律是清末全面改订旧律、制定新律活动中的一个重要内容,于1898年首次提出,到1911年清末最后一个报律《钦定报律》的颁布,共历时13年,大致以1906年《大清印刷物专律》和《报章应守规则》的颁布为界分为前后两个阶段。本文就这两个阶段的报界反应作一简要分析,借以揭示各种在野的社会势力对清政府领导的新政、立宪的要求、态度及相互间错综复杂的矛盾冲突。     

中国农村低收入群体社会保护的政策安排

社会保护政策安排是专门针对一个国家或社会的低收入群体,其政策目标是为了减少贫困和促进社会公正。改革开放以来,中国针对农村低收入群体的社会保护政策主要归结为区域性和开发性扶贫政策、传统社会救助政策以及农村最低生活保障制度。从社会保护政策的演进与转型中,可以得出：农村最低生活保障制度作为一项旨在保护农最低收入群体基本生存权利的不可或缺的社会救助制度,是对原有的社会保护网的一种修补,是一项适宜的制度选择。

以Elsevier SDOS、Kluwer Online、IEEE/IEE、Springer Verlag和Academic Press 5种常用的全文电子期刊数据库为例,对其学科分布、被SCI、SSCI权威数据库收录的比重以及JCR期刊影响因子分析等几个方面进行评价分析,并讨论这些电子期刊对图书馆期刊管理的影响。
