A panel which included a librarian, publisher and e-book providers presented issues confronting the growth of e-books in the academic library marketplace. The e-book market projections are a small part of the higher education book market. Frontlist titles are demanded by libraries with suppliers eager to supply such titles. However, publishers are feeling their way through various rights and contract issues as well as business models as they determine which frontlist titles to provide in electronic form. The instability of business partners has contributed to publisher delays in releasing titles as e-books. No one, (librarians, suppliers, publishers) is throwing in the towel on e-books but the position this format takes in the publishing industry and therefore in library collections in the near future is unsettled. 相似文献

with Indian companies has worked well for many international publishers. All the statistics and data have been collected and

A comparison of analyses of the Scottish publishing industry carried out in 1992, 2002 and 2007 underscores the fragility
of the sector within a small country within the English-language community. A number of indices reveal either stability or
stagnation and the picture emerges of the remarkable tenacity of publishing in Scotland. Although there is already a significant
and vital element of state support for publishing in Scotland, further intervention will be necessary to ensure fulfilment
of its potential.

fair including the key publishers, booksellers and authors who are part of the amazing global event. The interesting initial
development and challenges of post World War II and related relocated German publishers are described. The initial efforts
as a national book fair from 1949 to the present international event are traced. The turmoil and confrontation of political
groups during the 1968 and subsequent years with actions taken was a difficult period for the fair but it survived to grow
