Schools as dangerous places

When students set off for school each day how many of them or their caregivers consider for a moment that they will spend the day at a potentially dangerous place? On the contrary, students and caregivers probably view schools as safe havens, and official research suggests that this is the case for the majority of teachers and pupils. However, underlying this official view, schools are more and more seen as much less benign and safe. The popular press, for one thing, is certainly keen to report instances of schools as dangerous places. This article examines schools as dangerous places because of dangers from pupils to pupils, teachers to pupils, teachers to teachers, pupils to teachers and dangers from the physical and natural environment. The discussion is framed in terms of the culture of the school and the increasingly legal nature of the schooling and educational environment.

本课题以健美操运动对小学生身体健康发展的影响为研究对象,通过实验研究,揭示健美操运动对促进小学生身体健康发展的影响因素和作用,为新课程标准下小学体育课程内容的选择提供参考依据。     

Bully/victim problems among Greek pupils with special educational needs: associations with loneliness and self‐efficacy for peer interactions

This study explores the prevalence of different types of bullying and victimisation among Greek pupils receiving special education support provision. Associations of these types with feelings of loneliness and perceived social efficacy for peer interactions are also examined. The sample consisted of 178 students of fifth and sixth primary school grades who participated in pull‐out special education delivery programmes. Participants were found to be actively involved in both bullying and victimisation, with higher rates in victimisation. Statistically significant gender and disability differences in bullying and loneliness were identified. Both bullying and victimisation were associated with loneliness/social dissatisfaction, and self‐efficacy for peer interactions. Moreover, our data provided evidence that bully/victims may be a distinct group in terms of their increased levels of loneliness. Results are discussed in terms of their implications for promoting children with special educational needs and disabilities social inclusion.     

小学生体育锻炼习惯形成因素的分析

体育锻炼对学生身体素质的提高有着重要作用。在体育运动中,体育锻炼的习惯对运动效果有重要影响。本文主要从体育锻炼习惯的内涵、学生锻炼习惯的因素进行全面分析,通过对学生个体、学校、老师以及家庭、社会等多种因素的分析,探讨影响小学生体育锻炼习惯形成的各种因素,帮助学生形成良好的体育锻炼习惯,促进其身体素质的提高以及学生的全面发展。     

Training to teach physical education in a grammar school for boys: female narratives and mentor perspectives

This research examines the school-based training experiences of a female trainee teacher of physical education (Emily) at a grammar school for boys. The purpose of this research is to consider whether the sex of the trainee teacher either inhibits or advances the professional development of trainee teachers in an opposite-sex school. Emily provided a continuous commentary through narrative accounts of her professional development within an all-boys grammar school whilst undertaking the final stage of her statutory school-based training in south-east England through the use of an on-line journal which generated computer-mediated data. Emily highlighted her initial anxieties; the challenges she faced during the placement; and her overall perceptions of training to teach physical education in a grammar school for boys. A post-placement interview also provided additional data with regards to her professional development. Further evidence of Emily's experiences and progress was provided by her mentor's final report and through e-mail correspondence. The findings suggest that whilst the sex of the trainee is a contextual factor to consider in an opposite-sex school it does not inhibit the professional development of the trainee and has little relevance to training to teach physical education in an opposite-sex school.     

辽宁省小学生近五年体质健康状况分析研究

采用文献资料、访谈调查及数理统计等研究方法对辽宁省小学生近五年体质健康状况进行比较与分析,旨在对小学阶段培养良好的生活习惯和文明健康的生活方式,促进学校、家庭、社会的有效引导和保障作用服务,为相关部门制定青少年体质健康促进政策提供理论参考。     

Helping Teachers Support Pupils with Mental Health Problems Through Inter-professional Collaboration: A Qualitative Study of Teachers and School Principals

ABSTRACT

A qualitative study conducted in four lower secondary schools in Norway explored teachers’ and school principals’ experiences of collaboration with a variety of extended services (ES). Particular attention was directed to the ways (if any) they perceived collaboration to be relevant to helping teachers support pupils with mental health problems through their everyday social and pedagogic practices. Findings of the study indicated that teachers valued initiatives that could help develop mutual understandings of teachers’ and ES professionals’ roles and responsibilities. Initiatives to build inter-professional relationships were perceived as laying the foundation for more productive collaboration. However, to be able to provide coherent, sustained support in the classroom, teachers needed guidance from ES professionals. This required a shift in collaborative processes away from a focus on individualized pupil support towards helping teachers support pupils through their classroom-based social and pedagogical practices. Implications for policy and practice are discussed.     

漫谈小学语文教学中体验式学习的应用

在新课程背景下,体验式学习模式成了小学语文教学的重要途径。小学语文教师要善于引导学生进行体验式学习,营造开放、轻松的语文学习氛围,开展形式丰富的课堂体验活动,激发小学生的学习兴趣,陶冶小学生的道德情操,提高学生的语文运用能力。本文结合实际小学语文教学经验,先分析了体验式学习的特点,进而论述了体验式学习在小学语文教学中的应用策略。     

《小学生日常行为规范》实施过程中的问题与对策

《小学生日常行为规范》实施过程中存在着价值观念偏失、教育内容窄化、教育方法单一等问题,导致其实施效果不尽人意。为此,我们必须端正价值取向,正确认识并解读“规范”,全面把握“规范”教育的内容,摒弃陈旧的教育方法,建立平等对话的师生关系,以提高“规范”实施的实效,实现“规范”的初衰。
