元上都遗址价值与旅游资源研究

元上都遗址曾作为大蒙古国统治中心的元朝国都,位于内蒙古正蓝旗上都镇,以其重要的历史、文化、科学、艺术和社会价值,成为一处全人类文化遗产。在新的历史形势下,如何将现实与历史有机结合,在保护这一世界文化遗产的前提下,进行旅游资源开发和利用,已成为当前亟待解决的一个问题。     

Walking the walk and the impact of space and place on new media art

This paper looks at the implications of the loss of site illustrated by three diverse, site-specific new media art case studies: Taking Pictures by Janet Cardiff, Rio Videowall by Dara Birnbaum, and net.flag by Mark Napier. Focus will be placed on the challenges to permanence of new media art by exploring the impact of the expansion of the Saint Louis Art Museum and changes to geography of the surrounding park on Taking Pictures. The preservation of Taking Pictures is considered in the context of the other two case studies in terms of physical site-specificity vs. mediated site-specificity. The impact of new media technology, artist intent, and participant's interactions are considered in terms of the functionality, viability, and preservation of site-specific new media art.

HUSH,An Automated Multipurpose Periodical System or From Rotary File to Computer

A computerized serials management system designed for a medium-sized academic library is running interactively on VAX-11/780 computer at Western Carolina University. Replacing manual files, this system is of benefit to library patrons through improved services and to library staff in providing more flexible information. Features of this locally-designed system are described by the authors.     

Race and Gender as Peripheral Cues on Political Campaign Web Sites

This study examines the roles candidate race and gender may play in the evaluation of candidates presented via campaign Web sites. Apparent race and gender of a candidate were manipulated while issue information was held constant on a campaign Web site. The candidate's gender was shown to affect evaluations of the candidate (positively for female candidates) after controlling for participant political ideology, political knowledge, and political self-efficacy. The candidate's race did not affect evaluations of the candidate. Findings are discussed in the context of peripheral bias of central processing.     

土建筑遗址保护理念探索与实践——以交河故城保护为例

由于特殊的地理环境和文化传统,营建土建筑在中国西北部和中亚地区非常普遍,至今还有大量的土建筑遗址得以较好保存,并且成为探寻这些地区历史变迁不可多得的实物遗存。这些土建筑的建造工艺,可以指导今天在这些地区的建筑设计。本文以新疆吐鲁番交河故城保护研究和文物本体保护工程实践为基础,阐述了土建筑遗址保护理念的探索与实践。
