Food (in)security communication: a Journal of Applied Communication Research forum addressing current challenges and future possibilities

ABSTRACT

This forum brings together food, (in)security, and communication. The authors participating in this forum center communication as both process and tool for understanding, mitigating, and making meaning of food (in)security. The nine authors together discuss the role of communication in food (in)security, the central challenges for scholars and practitioners working on food (in)security, and the creative possibilities and impacts influencing the future of food (in)security. The forum produces a call for applied scholars to re-imagine communication frameworks in order to make meaningful differences in their communities.     

全球化 华夏文明传播的新机遇

在经济全球化中 ,各国不同文化的传播与碰撞 ,凸现出中华优秀民族文化的内在活力和人文价值 ,成为解决文化冲突和医治各种社会疾患可资借鉴的良方之一。文章还分析了中华文化在新世纪多元化格局中的价值取向 ,指出在实现现代化过程中 ,弘扬中华文化自身的整合与重构强势 ,吸纳、借鉴、融合外来优秀文化 ,是创造中华民族新文化的有效途径     

英语教学中的跨文化渗透教学探究

在英语教学中落实素质教育,让学生在掌握英语语言技能的同时,提高语用能力,实现跨文化交际,是英语教师肩负的重任。文章从文化素质教育对英语跨文化交际的要求、文化与语言的关系入手,讨论了文化背景知识在英语教学中的作用,文化素质教育的内容以及在教学中进行跨文化渗透的原则及方法。     

网络不同媒体组合的传播效果检测分析

本文通过对多通道刺激反应心理学理论的回溯 ,援引美国传播学教授斯·斯亚姆·山德尔 (S .ShyamSundar)在 2 0 0 0年所做的网站多媒体组合信息传播实验结果———在目前网络软硬件技术还有待大幅度提高的情况下 ,越多的媒体参与网络传播 ,并不一定能取得好的传播效果。本文借此提出文本 图片是目前网站较为合适的信息传播形式的观点。     

E-mail in government: Not post-bureaucratic but late-bureaucratic organizations

Empirical research provides evidence that electronic communication does not change government agencies into post-bureaucratic organizations. Structuration Theory is used to explore the interaction between e-mail use, communication patterns of civil servants, and two bureaucratic characteristics: formalization and hierarchy. Previous research suggested that the use of e-mail leads to less formalization and less hierarchy, but empirical research in three bureaucratic organizations in the Netherlands leads to different conclusions. First, the use of e-mail leads to informal formalization: the style of communication is more informal but the content focuses less on personal issues and emphasizes efficient recordings of agreements. Second, the use of e-mail leads to hierarchical horizontalization: horizontal contacts take a more central position in bureaucratic organizations but these horizontal contacts are tightly linked to vertical structures. The result of the interaction between e-mail and government bureaucracy is horizontal communication directly linked to vertical structures. Electronic communication turns government agencies into late-bureaucratic organizations.     

The Concept of Inclusive Education: Teacher Training and Acquisition of English Language in the Hearing Impaired

Three languages are widely used in schools in Kenya – English, Kiswahili and Kenya Sign Language. Many pupils with hearing impairments are taught separately from the mainstream, in specialist settings. The fact that most of the formal teaching, assessment and examination processes in Kenyan schools rely upon spoken and written English compounds the separation of these pupils from the mainstream of education and, potentially, from the mainstream of society. In this article, Gertrude Wamae, graduate assistant in the Department of English and Linguistics at Kenyatta University, and Rachael Kang'ethe-Kamau, lecturer in the Department of Special Education at Kenyatta University, discuss the relationships between language, hearing impairment and inclusion in the Kenyan context. The article suggests that the use of signed exact English would enhance opportunities for inclusion for those with hearing impairments and that programmes of teacher training need to take account of persuasive research in this area. The article closes with a plea for further research, carried out collaboratively by educationalists, linguists, teacher trainers and practitioners, to develop policies and practices suited to more inclusive futures. The article is based on a paper presented to the International Conference on Inclusive Education run by Maseno University in September 2002.

体育教学中人际信息沟通的特征及其有效运用

体育教学过程是一个特殊的认识过程,从人际信息沟通的规律和特点分析、论述了体育教学过程中师生人际互动的原理和体育教学中人际信息沟通的双向性、情感性、教师的主导性、学生的主体性及身心互动性等主要特征.同时提出建立良好的师生关系并创设融洽的教学气氛、注意人际信息沟通中师生间信息加工的差异,根据学生学习的主体性特点组织教学、注意学生的内向交流,培养与激发学生学习的内部动机、以及选择多种人际互动方式,疏通各种渠道,建立信息沟通网络等有效运用人际信息沟通应注意的问题.

[目的/意义]社交媒体提高了学术信息传播与推送效率,丰富了学术信息和服务的供给能力。学术信息在学术生态中呈跨平台传播态势,微信公众号、知识服务平台和期刊官方网站是重要的学术信息推广媒介。[方法/过程]以CSSCI来源期刊为研究对象,全面调查统计C刊微信公众号开设情况,分析C刊微信公众号运营数据和同期CNKI论文下载量之间的关系。[结果/结论]C刊微信公众号运营能力有待提升,运营数据显著影响CNKI平台论文下载量。提出C刊公众号运营应进行持续性改进的建议。     

以整体性环境叙事构建中国绿色国际传播体系——以《中国日报》“北向追象”报道为例

《中国日报》于2021年夏开始的对云南亚洲象北行的专题英文报道,利用多平台综合信息展示了中国环保实践,在全球广受好评。本次报道与习近平总书记构建中国话语和中国叙事体系的理念十分相符,其中生态理念的本土特质得到凸显,官民一体的形象得到了积极塑造,而中国科技能力的展现也融入了一个好故事的解说之中。中国当代的环境叙事必须反映人与自然的生命共同体与人类命运共同体的完整结合;"北向追象"所构造的具有中国特色的环境叙事之所以取得了很好的外宣效果,跟其紧扣这一完整性的表达密不可分,对于今后的国际传播工作也提供了颇多启示。
