Teaching and Research: Identity Representations Among Teacher-Education Faculty Members,Decades After an Institutional Change

Recent emphasis on research productivity in teacher-education institutions has intensified the inherent tension in faculty members’ roles as both educators and researchers. We adopt the framework of social representations theory to explore identity perceptions among teacher-educators whose organization required them to take on the identity of “researcher.” The study relies on qualitative content analysis of data from eight focus groups (n?=?100) comprising faculty members at an Israeli teachers’ training college that transitioned into an academic research institution. We observe that, in the wake of the organizational change, participants abandoned the traditional hegemonic representation of the centrality of pedagogy and accepted new representations combining teaching and research. Yet few participants identified with the new representation on a personal level, and pedagogy continued to constitute the essence of their work.

谪居黄州时期是苏轼人生及文艺创作发生重要转折的时期,其思想嬗变为儒道释相结合并以道释思想为主导思想特征。嬗变的原因主要是时代文化的熏染和个人仕宦经历的助推两个方面,嬗变的表现以诗文和书画创作为袁征。这种嬗变使他实现了从现实人生向艺术人生的转化,达到了他所处时代的最高思想境界,对后世产生了广泛而深刻的影响。

由于历史与现实的原因,苏联联邦制的建立缺乏坚实的根基,再加上实行＂民族区域原则＂和＂双重主权原则＂,致使联邦制不是在强化统一的国家认同和整体功能意识,而是在强化各加盟共和国的民族认同和局部功能意识。苏联联邦制因缺乏充分整合各民族形成强有力的民族凝聚力的能力而成为苏联疆域剧变的一个重要原因。     

Exploring interdisciplinary academic development: the Change Laboratory as an approach to team-based practice

Higher education institutions are under increasing pressure to offer interdisciplinary education programmes; however, their implementation is not uncomplicated. Particularly where parts of a programme are delivered by different departments, academic development activities to change practices and develop a coherent interdisciplinary programme are problematical. This paper describes a team-based academic development activity aimed at improving student experiences of an interdisciplinary programme by seeking to resolve pedagogical, organisational and structural tensions. The activity is in the form of a Change Laboratory, a formative intervention method that builds on the theoretical framework of Cultural–Historical Activity Theory. Using this approach, participants were able to analyse and discuss the programme in a neutral interdisciplinary forum not available in academic development initiatives at the micro level of the individual teacher.     

Changing approaches to classroom assessment: An empirical study across teacher career stages

Research indicates that there is considerable variability in teachers' approaches to assessment resulting in different learning cultures for students. The primary purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between teachers' approaches to assessment across a set of dimensions (including their conceptions of assessment purposes, processes, fairness, and measurement theory) and career stage. The results of this paper illustrate nuanced impacts of career stage on teachers' approaches to multiple dimensions of assessment and enable the generation of assessment profiles that provide empirical support for differences in teachers’ approaches to assessment both within and between career stages.

作为一种现实中存在的现象,虚假供述尚未引起我国司法人员的注意,而对此美固学者却进行了深入地分析。美国学者根据虚假供述成因的不同将虚假供述区分为三类：自愿性虚假供述、强迫顺从虚假供述与强迫内在化虚假供述,并对各类虚假供述的成因进行了具体的分析,美国学者对虚假供述成因的分析对我国深刻认识心理强制时代的侦查讯问具有很强的启示意义。
