信息帝国主义特征、危害与对策研究

信息化时代信息垄断已经成为帝国主义采用的新殖民主义主要方式。文章对信息帝国主义的外在表征、兴起原因、本质特征、信息垄断方式与手段进行了讨论,分析了信息帝国主义的潜在危害,然后探讨了颠覆列强信息霸权的应对策略。最后得出需要从维护国家战略安全的角度警惕与反击信息帝国主义的结论。     

Globalization,Media Imperialism and South Korean Sport

This study tries to understand South Korean sport through the lens of media globalization. It explains what happened when Chan Ho Park gained fame in the Major League Baseball and how the Korean media sport market has changed since then. Due to the oligopolistic media market structure in Korea, and opportunistic behaviour, the sports media industry in Korea was not ready for media globalization and, consequently, the industry has seen indications of its marginalization in the global media market.     

Global Perspectives on Sports and Movement Cultures: From Past to Present – Modern Sports between Nationalism,Internationalism, and Cultural Imperialism

The presentation uses the slogan of the ISHPES-congress ‘Global perspectives on Sports and Movement Cultures: From Past to Present’ in Qatar, by focusing on the development of modern sports which involve nationalism, internationalism, and cultural imperialism. Theoretical considerations on sports history and universal history form the introduction to the presentation. Sports have indeed become universal and taken on global perspectives, but both factors are based on local, regional, and national physical cultures. In a second step, the thesis of sport as a ‘pattern of modern universal culture’ (Bausinger) is discussed. Deep structures of anthropologically based categories of (natural) physical cultures like running, jumping, or throwing are differentiated from surface-oriented structures such as man-made sport. The notion of sport as a dominant, but permanently changing form (and content) of modern physical culture is described and explained with respect to the work of Allen Guttmann and Norbert Elias.     

Carpe Diem: Bandung,historical inequalities and development goals

The 1955 Bandung Afro-Asian solidarity conference symbolized the end of the colonial era and the beginning of new relations between the former colonial powers that had industrialized and the former colonies subsequently variously referred to as the developing countries, Third World or South. These changing relations also involved new discourses and modes of analysis. The nature and pattern of inequalities have also changed significantly over time, including during the recent period. Despite high levels of national level inequalities, about two thirds of overall economic inequality are due to disparities among countries. But the determinants of changing inequalities have also changed significantly as economic relations at both national and international levels have changed with economic, social and political transformations. In recent years, the ascendant developmentalist discourse of the 1960s and 1970s was undermined by the rise of conservative market fundamentalism. The discourse of development has continued to change as reflected by the lines and terms of conflict and contention. The four Development Decades of the late 20th century gave way to the Millennium Development Goals of the last decade and a half. The struggle to elaborate the Sustainable Development Goals for the next period is the most recent manifestation of this ongoing struggle.

详细分析了全球化背景下英语的强大的原因,提出了英语对汉语在词汇,汉语用法、译文西化等方面产生的影响,并指出了保持汉语纯正性的立法、重视母语、加强教学体系改革的措施和办法,以期在汉语推广过程中提供参考作用。     

Trading quality across borders: colonial discourse and international quality assurance policies in higher education

Accountability and quality assurance have become central discourses in higher education policy throughout the world. However, accountability and quality assurance involve power and control. Practices and ideas about quality developed in the Global North are spreading rapidly across the Global South, leading to increased uniformity in the approaches to quality assurance. Given the significant asymmetries that divide the Global North and Global South, this article maps interdiscursive relations among key texts that influence policy development on international quality in higher education, and explores the applicability of colonial discourse as a perspective for understanding this increasing international convergence.     

International rankings and the contest for university hegemony

In just a decade, the international university rankings have become dominant measures of institutional performance for policy-makers worldwide. Bolstered by the façade of scientific neutrality, these classification systems have reinforced the hegemonic model of higher education – that of the elite, Anglo-Saxon research university – on a global scale. The process is a manifestation of what Bourdieu and Wacquant have termed US “cultural imperialism.” However, the rankings paradigm is facing growing criticism and resistance, particularly in regions such as Latin America, where the systems are seen as forcing institutions into a costly and high-stakes “academic arms race” at the expense of more pressing development priorities. That position, expressed at the recent UNESCO conferences in Buenos Aires, Paris, and Mexico City, shows the degree to which the rankings have become a fundamental element in the contest for cultural hegemony, waged through the prism of higher education.     

Christianity and the Rise of Western Physical Education and Sport in Modern China, 1840–1920s

Christianity, as practised by missionary educational institutions and the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), was an important means of introducing and popularizing Western physical education and sport in modern China from 1840 to the 1920s. The research investigates how and why missionary educational institutions and the YMCA and YWCA contributed to the rise of physical education and sport in modern China. This analysis examines the activities of missionary educational institutions and the YMCA and YWCA in China during this period to uncover what really contributed to pave the way for Christianity, as well as led to this rise of Western physical education and sport in modern China from 1840 to the 1920s.

后殖民主义时期是英美等轴心英语国家向边缘或落后国家进行语言、文化渗透的时期。以该历史时期为背景,考察英语在中国的语言殖民、文化扩张及后殖民英语在中国的教育模式与培养目标。     

现代性与文化帝国主义

文化帝国主义问题涉及到对资本主义制度与生活方式、启蒙观念的普世性等现代性问题的审视与批判。在深层次上厘清文化帝国主义的内涵、表现形式和运作逻辑,可有效辨析文化帝国主义与现代媒介文化、全球资本主义扩张以及现代性普遍主义话语之问的内在联系,阐明在西方（尤其是美国）文化帝国主义冲击下的民族国家内部文化民族主义的矛盾性和困境。
