#MeToo has breathed new life into the women’s movement and especially into understanding and rectifying sexual harassment, abuse and assault. It has galvanized activists around the globe. And it has placed thousands of stories of the harassed in full view of the public. Sexual harassment, abuse and assault may occur within the organizational context or beyond; but sexual harassment, in particular has been legally labeled an organizational phenomenon. With this in mind, Robin Clair frames the early part of this article around the most recent organizational communication theories (see the appendix for an overview of these theories). Despite several studies having been conducted to examine organizational image from a business perspective, there has not been adequate research in the area of perceived image in nonprofit organizations such as universities. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the factors contributing to university image, from the postgraduate students’ point of view. In addition, the impact of the students’ perceived university image on their organizational trust was examined. The population of this study consisted of postgraduate students in 10 of the top Iranian universities. Questionnaires were used to collect the required data. The findings indicated the difference between current practices and ideal values of the factors contributing to the university image. Based on our findings, the factors contributing to university image range from internal and international reputation, university members, and academic planning, to university environment. Furthermore, we found that university image has a significant impact on students’ trust in their university.  相似文献

We conducted surveys of adults participating in municipally sponsored volunteer events in the Portland, OR metropolitan area in order to understand the range of attitudes and behaviors associated with volunteer work. We sampled 172 individuals in 18 events from February to June 2012. Principal components and factor analyses of survey responses identified three groups based on annual frequency of participation in stewardship events: first-time volunteers, mid-level volunteers (3–10 events per year), and frequent volunteers (>10 events per year). Our analyses revealed three main factors that explained the variation in survey response for the three volunteer groups: environmental identity, private pro-environmental behavior, and civic engagement. All three factors were positively correlated with frequency of participation in stewardship events, with the most frequent volunteers indicating the highest degree of attention to environmental issues, environmental identity, and self-reported pro-environmental behaviors. Frequent volunteers were more likely to feel personally attached to their local environment, believe that their efforts help solve environmental problems, and enjoy being part of community efforts. These results suggest that stewardship activities provide opportunities for volunteers to interact with others while working collectively toward restoring and maintaining parks, which may contribute to more resilient communities.  相似文献

我国职业教育已由规模扩张进入高质量发展阶段,面临的环境更加复杂,发展的不确定性因素明显增加.一些职业院校由于组织行为简单化无法适应高质量发展要求.通过分析职业院校组织行为简单化的特征,发现存在办学模式主体单一,人才培养目标失衡、方式简单,缺乏动态的课程调整机制,教学过程未充分利用企业资源,教师培养中对"双师型"教师内涵认识不足等五个方面的影响因素.透过职业院校组织行为简单化的表征,将上述影响因素划分为大要因、中要因、小要因三个层次,以低层次因素作为高层次因素的原因,从而找到可依此改进的"原因的原因".最后,提出了构建利益相关者命运共同体、制订科学的职业院校发展规划和建立有效的质量监控体系三项措施,以期破解职业院校组织行为简单化的问题.  相似文献

The notion of academic citizenship has been largely associated with the service role which is a part of academic work seen as additional to teaching and research. The changing landscapes of higher education and the increasing diversity of academic work have prompted debates on what academic citizenship means. This paper challenges the conventional association of academic citizenship with the service role and presents a critical review of the key themes and issues explored in extant literature on the subject. Drawing upon the general view of citizenship as practice, it proposes that the different dimensions of academic work be seen integratively, with academic citizenship reframed beyond the service role. We argue that academic citizenship needs to be conceptualised as a practice of enactment, that is, by the values, processes and means by which it is enacted and asserted as academics draw on freedoms, autonomy and individual motivations.  相似文献

以往学者往往关注组织冗余对企业绩效的最终影响,而对更为微观的企业探索的影响关注的较少。本文基于资源基础理论和惰性理论,以中国187个高科技制造企业为研究对象,检验了组织冗余与企业探索之间的关系。研究发现:(1)组织冗余对企业探索有显著的积极影响;(2)环境动态性对上述关系具有显著的负向调节作用。这一结果表明单一的理论视角难以全面解释组织冗余对企业探索的影响,将资源基础理论和惰性理论结合起来能增进我们对这一现象的理解。  相似文献
