Managing Discovery and Linking Services

There is a growing trend toward a consolidation of services for electronic resources management, A–Z journal listings, full text link resolving, and discovery services under a single service provider. In many cases, the adoption of a discovery service from a provider that is not the same as the libraries’ existing link resolver service means managing multiple knowledgebases. In this session, three librarians gave an overview of their experiences and strategies for maintaining separate link resolving and discovery services in lieu of adopting a full suite of services from a single service provider. Each speaker presented a case study on the advantages and challenges of managing their chosen discovery service: EBSCO Discovery Service, Ex Libris’ Primo and ProQuest’s Summon, in conjunction with the CUFTS/GODOT open source knowledgebase and link resolver service.     

Reimaging Public Libraries as Learning Communities: What Library Stories Can Tell Us

This article describes a study conducted in York County, Pennsylvania, on its countywide library system framed within the context of the statewide “Reimaging Libraries” Get Storied initiative, developed and marketed by organizational story consultant, Michael Margolis. Understood as an essential aspect of culture re-imaging and change, narratives were collected from library personnel by undergraduate students at Pennsylvania State University-York as part of a service-learning initiative (directed by the first author). Working closely with the library district consultant (second author), we assess the success of the initiative and make some recommendations for culture reimaging through the practice of storytelling.     

Public Library Services for Veterans: Selected Brief Case Studies

Public libraries across the country design and deliver programs for military veterans and their families, often collaborating with other organizations and agencies. The examples were assembled from both general and specialized interviews with librarians, and literature and Internet searches, with summaries of programs assembled and written by multiple researchers. The specific limitations on the listing in this article are clearly outlined in the first section. Overall, however, the article provides a good introductory overview of what’s going on in veteran’s programs and services in America’s public libraries in over seventy libraries in forty states. We hope this list of what public libraries have organized or are doing will supply other public librarians with ideas on how to provide new services or enhance their existing ones.     

A Safe,Helpful, and Ubiquitous Place That Requires Further Study

In this article, Bradley Wade Bishop sets forth the unspoken premise that public libraries that offer desired services to their constituents are going to succeed. This article has many specific examples of emergency and continuing services that small public libraries provide. It also suggests the need for extensive research on successful libraries which illustrate all sorts of rules about how to meet the future successfully.

互联网具有传统多媒体的特性,又具有强大的交互性,而这种交互性因它的匿名性、隐形性等特点又不同于现实中的面对面的人际交往和生活方式。正是这种不同,使具有不同人格倾向的使用者在选择自己需要的互联网服务的同时,其人格也受到了互联网的影响。文章介绍了“人格与互联网”研究中两个方面的研究进展:其一,人格倾向对选择互联网服务的作用;其二,互联网对个体人格倾向的影响。并指出了当前研究中存在的问题和未来研究可以拓展的方向。     

黑龙江省越野滑雪后备人才现状分析与发展对策研究

黑龙江省作为我国越野滑雪项目的优势大省,加强对黑龙江省越野滑雪后备人才培养的研究,已成为保证越野滑雪项目可持续发展的重要举措。借助2022年北京市和张家口市联合举办第24届冬季奥运会的良好契机,改善黑龙江省越野滑雪运动后备人才培养现状,是一个值得深入研究和探讨的课题。通过对黑龙江省2011年～2014年经注册的越野滑雪运动员进行定量与定性分析,深入地研究黑龙江省越野滑雪后备人才的培养现状。结果表明,黑龙江省越野滑雪项目存在运动员人数小幅度萎缩,人才匮乏;青少年基础薄弱,选材困难;场地缺乏、器材昂贵等问题。提出改革越野滑雪后备人才培养体制,借鉴先进的训练模式;优化青少年选材标准,选择科学的评价指标;加快场地建设和器材国产化、量产化;加强教练员运动员队伍建设等对策。以期缩小差距,为促进黑龙江省越野滑雪运动项目的可持续发展提供参考。     

黑龙江省冰壶运动后备人才现状与发展的研究

中国女子冰壶队曾经夺得温哥华冬奥会铜牌,男子冰壶队获得索契冬奥会第4名的优异成绩,但在近2年的世界大赛中比赛成绩不尽人意,对我国冰壶运动后备人才的培养拉响了警钟。冰壶运动后备人才的培养,对我国冰壶项目未来的发展,起到至关重要的作用。从冰壶运动员训练的管理体制,冰壶后备人才的科学选材,冰壶后备人才竞技训练效率与质量的评价,冰壶竞技后备人才文化素质的培养4个维度对黑龙江省冰壶运动后备人才培养的现状进行深度剖析;缺乏有效的专业管理部门,训练管理制度不够完善,缺乏定期的评价反馈方法,教练员的科学执教能力亟待提高等是黑龙江省冰壶运动后备人才培养中存在的主要问题。提出加快我国体育管理体制的改革,成立省市冰壶训练管理中心,建立完整的冰壶后备人才梯队选材体系,加强冰壶教练员队伍的建设,进一步提高科学训练水平,提高运动员的教育水平与综合素质等促进黑龙江省冰壶运动后备人才培养的发展对策。

探究人力资本理论对足球后备人才培养的影响

运用文献资料、问卷调查、专家访谈、数理统计及回归统计等方法,以上海市部分少体校青少年足球培养为研究对象,以人力资本理论为指导进行研究并发现:1)少体校足球后备人才培养轻视素质培养,模式陈旧单一,培养观念需转变;2)应及时解决以人力资本理论为指导研究对象存在的一些可能被忽视的问题;3)以人力资本理论为指导,加强研究对象与其他培养体系交流,尝试建立合理的交流渠道和富有市场机制的转会费机制,保障青少年足球人才的人力资本能够在培养过程中甚至进入职业队后得到充分发挥。

经过技术驱动、渠道与平台驱动的发展阶段,基于优质内容资源的创新服务在数字出版产业中的重要性日益凸显。信息技术、网络技术、数字技术为代表的技术革命背景下,台湾数字出版内容从“生产—分发—消费—反馈”等环节全面发生转变：交互式的内容呈现形态、内容产品的多介质延伸、基于社会化媒体的内容生成与传播机制,以及优质内容资源的服务盈利模式。
