本文围绕加强高校英语口语教学这一主题，阐述了提高高校学生英语口语表达能力的必要性，探究了英语口语表达能力的培养方向和评价标准，提出了高校学生英语口语能力发展阶段的划分，即领会接收、复用加工和创造运用三个阶段，及与各阶段对应的主要教学策略，即初级（模仿）、中级（讲述）、高级（演示）。     

Evaluation of English Teaching Materials in Terms of Learning and Motivation

This study investigates the relationship between the teaching materials and motivation in second language acquisition.An evaluation of teaching materials based on Dornyei’s motivation construct has been employed.The results indicate students and teacher are basically satisfied with the textbook.Many factors,which affect student’ s motivation towards teaching materials,are perceived.     

Globalization and Foreign Language Education at a Chinese University

This essay begins with a brief introduction to the changes in foreign language education policy and the main motives for those changes in the context of socio-political circumstances. It then examines the development of language education system in a new college of a university in China over a period of ten years in relation to the issue of internationalization and globalization.The study shows that the language education system of the new college has developed in parallel with the recently-emerged trends in language education in China. Finally,it seeks to interpret these trends in terms of global,national,regional forces that currently drive it forwards.
