The Pakistani Hindu community inhabiting a camp in the city of New Delhi presents the most recent case of South-to-South migration. Migration into India for this community has been undertaken with an aim to achieve a better life, especially one characterized by better education for their children. Education for the families from this community is associated with progress, improvement, development of intellect, and a means to put an end to the families’ endless roaming. However, the visions and aspirations for the future meet with difficulties stemming from the nature of their migration and the absence of any transactional relationship with the Indian state due to their lack of citizenship.  相似文献

The investigation probed relationships among human‐figure drawing, field‐dependent‐independent cognitive style and self‐esteem of 10–15 year olds. It also attempted to predict human‐figure drawing scores of participants based on their field‐dependence‐independence and self‐esteem. Area, stratified and multi‐stage random sampling were used to select a sample of 600 10–15 year olds residing in Kolkata city, India. The sample comprised three age‐based strata: 10 and 11 year olds; 12 and 13 year olds; and 14 and 15 year olds. Each stratum comprised 100 girls and 100 boys. Participants’ actual age‐ranges were 10 years 1 month – 11 years 10 months (first stratum); 12 years 4 months – 13 years 10 months (second stratum); and 14 years 3 months – 15 years 9 months (third stratum). Goodenough‐Harris Drawing Test, Group Embedded Figures Test and Coopersmith Inventory were administered for assessing participants’ human‐figure drawing, field‐dependence‐independence and self‐esteem respectively. Results revealed significant positive relations among pertinent variables. Participants’ human‐figure drawing scores could be significantly predicted by their field‐dependence‐independence and self‐esteem.  相似文献

There is a need for a simple and reliable method to identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis from nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). The utility of mycobacterial ES-31, ES-43, EST-6 or ES-20 antigen as a biomarker for differentiation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacilli from nontuberculous mycobacteria was explored using Fluorescein isothiocyanate conjugated antibodies against these antigens. Detection of these antigens was done from M.tb H37Ra and H37Rv DSS antigen. The presence of antigen in bacilli using FITC labelled antibody was indicated by green fluorescence on the cell surface while, its absence by no fluorescence under microscope. In M.tb H37Ra and H37Rv bacilli, fluorescence was observed on addition of FITC labelled anti ES-31 and anti ES-43 antibody; whereas no fluorescence was observed in case of EST-6 and ES-20 antibody conjugates. However all the antigens were detected in detergent soluble sonicate antigen of tubercle bacilli on addition of FITC conjugates. Fluorescence was not observed for ES-31, ES-43, EST-6 and ES-20 antigen in any of the tested NTM as well as in Escherichia coli. SEVA TB ES-31 and ES-43 may be used as biomarkers to distinguish M.tuberculosis bacilli from NTM.  相似文献

GARSAIRSGART is crucial in studies of Down syndrome (DS)-related mental retardation due to its chromosomal location (21q22.1), involvement in de novo purine biosynthesis and over-expression in fetal DS brain postmortem samples. GARSAIRSGART regions important for structure–function were screened for mutations that might alter protein levels in DS patients. Mutation screening relied on multiplex/singleplex PCR-based amplification of genomic targets followed by amplicon size determination/fingerprinting. Serum protein samples were resolved by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with a GARS–AIRS–GART monoclonal antibody. No variation in amplicon size/fingerprints was observed in regions encoding the ATP-binding, active site residues of GARS, the structurally important glycine-rich loops of AIRS, substrate-binding, flexible and folate-binding loops of GART or the poly-adenylation signal sequences. The de novo occurrence or inheritance of large insertion/deletion/rearrangement-type mutations is therefore excluded. Immunoblots show presence of GARS–AIRS–GART protein in all patient samples, with no change in expression levels with respect to either sex or developmental age.  相似文献

The present work proposes a complementary pair of orthogonal triangular function (TF) sets derived from the well-known block pulse function (BPF) set. The operational matrices for integration in TF domain have been computed and their relation with the BPF domain integral operational matrix is shown. It has been established with illustration that the TF domain technique is more accurate than the BPF domain technique as far as integration is concerned, and it provides with a piecewise linear solution.As a further study, the newly proposed sets have been applied to the analysis of dynamic systems to prove the fact that it introduces less mean integral squared error (MISE) than the staircase solution obtained from BPF domain analysis, without any extra computational burden. Finally, a detailed study of the representational error has been made to estimate the upper bound of the MISE for the TF approximation of a function f(t) of Lebesgue measure.  相似文献
