韩国大学发展的思路与对策——以汉城大学的改革与发展(1946-1985)为案例

大学发展是一个国际大学互动的过程。按照大学发展的历史线索,文章以韩国汉城大学为案例,描述了其自20世纪中叶创立以来至80年代中期的一系列改革思路与对策。研究指出,汉城大学的建设采取的是“政府主导模式”。它既是一个战略管理过程,也是一个制度引进、消化与创新的过程。同时,研究型大学发展必须确立研究在其发展中的核心位置。     

Applying the ECTS System to the Childhood Education Teaching Degree in Andalusia

This article presents the research conducted as part of a Pilot Experiment regarding the application of the ECTS to the Childhood Education Teaching Degree taught at the University of Cordoba (Spain). It analyses the Experiment, which was carried out in the Education Faculty over the course of three academic years (2004/05, 2005/06 and 2006/07). The research questions were: (1) How much do the students taking part in the Pilot Experiment know about the different competences? (2) How much time do the students need to prepare each subject? and (3) What are the methodological skills used by lecturers as a means of improving autonomous learning? Several tools were used: Initial Student Assessment for the ECTS Pilot Experiment in Childhood Education, and three Likert Scales: a) Competence Assessment Scale for UCO's Childhood Education Teaching Degree, b) Competence Achievement Assessment Scale for UCO's Childhood Education Teaching Degree, c) Assessment Scale for Subject Methodology in relation to the Application of ECTS and the organisation of Focus Groups. The most important conclusions were: (1) The specific professional competences established in the educational profile of this degree course are very highly rated by the students; (2) According to the students, the workload for certain subjects, in terms of the number of hours devoted to them, is excessively high and not proportional to the number of credits they account for, and (3) There has been an acceptable level of exchange among teaching staff regarding the instruments and methodological strategies used to promote students' autonomous work.     

Historicizing educational disparity: colonial policy and Fijian educational attainment

This paper charts the emergence of community publishing and worker writer groups in England in the early 1970s. These workshops supported working class and marginalized people to express their personal experience through poetry, prose, autobiography and history, a process with significant educational, cultural, political and social implications. From the 1970s these activities developed in a range of settings including schools, adult education and adult literacy as well as community campaigns and the traditional labour movement. In 1976 these groups came together to form the Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers. Although it often appears as a unique uprising, the movement drew on a wide range of broader intellectual influences and social movements.     

Evaluating the Evaluations: A Factor Analysis of Student Ratings

Student evaluation of instruction and instructor performance in higher education are being accorded an increasingly prominent role in decisions concerned with faculty promotion and tenure, as well as with advisement on teaching strategies. In this context a number of factor analyses have been imposed upon student rating-instruments in order to facilitate meaningful interpretation of student judgments. The present paper reports the resul ts of a factor analysis of the rating scales used by graduate students enrolled in counselor education programs at Western Michigan University to evaluate perceived quality of instruction. A principal components factor analysis yielded three interpretable factors that were labeled Responsiveness-Rapport, Evaluation Process, and Instructional Merit. Implications of the factor structure for counselor educators are discussed.
