This article notes a profound connection between the philosophy of Jewish law (halakhah) and the research of meta-halakah on the one hand and the philosophy of education on the other hand. The connection is, in principle, exemplified through an encounter between the educational philosophy of Joseph Schwab and the Jewish law (halakhic responsa literature). Following an elucidation of Schwab's deliberative model, the article examines the extent of the linkage between that model and halakhic thought. It considers three halakhic genres and provides illustrations of how Schwab's insights can contribute to an analysis of the responsa literature. 相似文献

Case histories were compiled of 100 instances of technological change in 102 manufacturing companies in eight industries in Ireland, Spain and Mexico. The cases are analyzed for the source of initial ideas and for sources of technology employed in resolving major problems.Technology is found to flow principally through informal channels within industries. Very little information was obtained from the formal mechanisms or institutions normally considered central to the technology transfer process.Foreign subsidiaries obtain the greatest proportion of their technology from their parent firms. Surprisingly, they are found to have several channels of technology blocked to them, which are more readily available to domestic firms. Domestic firms, in many ways have easier access to foreign technology than do the subsidiaries of multinational firms.Product and process innovations originate in somewhat different quarters. Process innovations are slightly more likely to be based on foreign technology; product innovations are more likely to be based on domestic technology.The results reported in the present paper are very similar in many ways to results reported previously in Brazil and Australia. 相似文献

One of the major continuing issues in the Israeli educational system over the last three years has been the professional status of the classroom teacher. The issue has been kept in front of the public through the determination and action of the elementary and secondary school teachers' unions. These unions, which in combined force, represent almost all of the teachers in the government schools, religious and general, have become aggressive in pursuing their goal of ameliorating the status of teachers in Israel. The teachers claim that the last several years have witnessed a serious decline in the status of the teacher, a failure to attract competent and qualified people to the profession, and a failure to reward and stimulate the best people in the system. One of the symptoms of this lack of esteem for teachers was the decline in their real wages, and therefore, a concrete expression of lack of regard for teaching by the Israeli society. However, the Israeli press and public opinion, would have preferred to see the teachers' cause as an exclusively economic issue. They preferred to say that this was merely another sector of the economy demanding its just share of the Israeli inflationary spiral. The unions saw this as a more complex social values issue. The teachers began to express serious discontent during the 1978-79 school year, and at that time threatened a series of work stoppages, and even strikes, if their demands were not dealt with. The Israeli government, always hard pressed by wage increase demands, began to relate to the teachers seriously at the end of 1978, and on January 16, 1979, appointed a special governmental commission to investigate the situation.
