从新历史主义角度看《幕间》

受各种社会因素的影响,伍尔夫的最后一部作品——小说《幕间》表现出了新历史主义的诸多特征。作者从新历史主义角度研究《幕间》,阐述了历史与文本、历史与作者的关系。艺术不是一个封闭的系统,历史是文本的一种,历史与文本间的交流是丰富而频繁的。历史并不都是事实,历史只是各种权力和意识形态操控下的叙述。《幕间》既是小说又是历史,反映了当时社会背景下人们的真实生活形态。伍尔夫通过重新建构历史确立了作者的主体性。

An Ecofeminist Perspective on Wuthering Heights

Wuthering Heights is a novel full of power written by Emily Bronte. The main characters-Catherine and Heathcliff, souls of the heath, represent the most natural power without any modification. The heath is vibrant with spirits and personality. Catherine, Heathcliff and the heath are connected. Women are most closely associated with the Nature. As the daughter of the Nature, Catherine fights bravely with the male power and the alienated civilization. In the final death and destruction Catherine and Heathcliff go back to nature, and there fore achieve the unity of body and soul.
