Recording the war effort: immigrant communities in Latin America and the memory of the Great War

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to analyse the initiatives undertaken by some immigrant communities residing in Latin America to record their mobilisation around the First World War. After the armistice, European communities in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and other countries gathered detailed information about their activities during the conflict, published as profusely illustrated books of remembrance, offered to their governments as proof of their loyalty. The article intends to establish the peculiar nature of these publications as records of the war effort, and analyse the agents and processes of their elaboration, and their role as commemorative but also as archival documents.

循证医学和医学论文中统计学问题编辑鉴定的必要性

介绍循证医学这一新兴学说及其对21世纪临床医学的影响，指出为适应这一转变，开展医学论言语中统计学问题的编辑鉴定研究的必要性，开展此项研究可以：1）普及医学统计知识，2）提高临床与科研水平，3）提高作者撰写与阅读能力，4）提高医学期刊质量，5）丰富编辑学研究的内涵，并指出了编辑鉴审研究的初步思路。     

发表评论--提高医学期刊质量的另一种方式

国外部分医学期刊发表专家或用户对论文的评论，受到读者的欢迎。国内这方面的尝试不多。发表评论可间接培训作者群、吸引和挖掘优秀稿件、增强期刊的可读性，从而提高期刊质量。建议医学期刊积极探索这一方式。     

我国体育产业统计指标体系及其统计方法的研究

运用产业经济学原理对国内外体育产业的发展现状进行了分析，认为我国必须建立体育产业统计指标体系。在吸收和借鉴其他产业部门统计指标体系以及西方发达国家同类研究经验的基础上，提出我国体育产业统计指标体系及统计方法。     

对现行审稿模式的思考与建议

针对我国现行的封闭式审稿模式的缺陷与不足，借鉴国外期刊的审稿模式，提出改进、完善审稿制度的方法。用连续审稿方式取代平行审稿方式，审稿内容首先在审稿人之间公开，在征得审稿人同意的情况下，审稿人姓名与审稿内容向作者公开。在此基础上逐步实行网上公开式审稿制度。     

上饶市老年人日常生活活动功能评价及其影响因素

采用日常生活活动功能指数、丧失率、L ogistic回归分析 ,对江西省上饶市老年人日常生活活动独立自理能力进行评价并对其影响因素进行研究。结果表明 ,江西省上饶市老年人日常生活活动功能的丧失率随年龄的增长而增大 ,男性高于女性 ,下肢高于上肢 ,丧失率随活动的复杂程度及难度的增大而上升。身体健康是影响老年人日常生活活动功能的最主要因素 ,其次是社会经济、心理、精神等因素。     

Financial Feeling: An Investigation of Emotion and Communication in the Workplace

There is growing interest in the role of emotion when considering communication in the workplace. This work has most often considered workers in front-line service positions in investigations of emotional labor, and human service workers in investigations of empathy and emotional work. In this study, we consider processes of both emotional labor and emotional work in the financial planning profession. Financial planners occupy a role requiring ongoing relationships with clients, conversations about the often emotional topic of money, and a need to manage emotion in a variety of interaction contexts. Thus, from extant theory and literature regarding emotion and communication, we proposed research questions regarding the roles of emotional labor and emotional work in the financial planning profession. These questions were investigated in a web-based survey study of almost 300 professional financial planners and supporting interviews with 14 financial planners. Results indicate support for existing theory on emotional work, extensions to current research regarding emotional labor, and important implications for the role of emotion and communication in a range of professional service roles.
