ABSTRACTEmploying the ideal type of “The Physical Education System,” in this analysis I explore the import of systems frameworks for new institutional designs which hold promise for better outcomes. The inherited idea of a system is restricted to the relationship between teacher education and school programs. It draws on the developmental trajectory of the specialized field of study which pre-dated Kinesiology, and it conforms to the industrial age school, particularly its assumptions regarding standardized curricula, teachers’ roles, student classification, and cultural assimilation. When this inherited framework reigns, other key systems components (e.g., public policy, influential peer/family/community ecologies) get short shrift, important “outcome chains” are not addressed, and both Kinesiology’s and Public Health’s contributions are constrained. Once the inherited physical education system is recognized as a consequential social determinant of pediatric health and well-being, needs and opportunities for redesign become apparent. 相似文献

Socially learned behavior can be a crucial factor in how animals interact with their environment and, thus, in conservation
and management. For species in which social learning and culture are important determinants of behavior, several factors complicate
conservation and management. These include the rapid spread of novel behavior through social learning, the inhibition of adaptive
behavior because of cultural conformism, the evolution of maladaptive behavior, and the development of culturally isolated
but sometimes sympatric groups. These factors can affect habitat suitability, movements, how animals react to anthropogenic
effects, and genetic structures. Social learning and culture may be important factors in translocation success, and should
sometimes be considered when delineating population units for conservation and management. We should aim to protect cultural
as well as genetic diversity. Unfortunately, clear data on social learning and culture in the wild are scarce. Hence, the

The relationship between education policy and workforce policy has long been uneasy. It is widely believed in many quarters of American society that the U.S. education system is in decline and, what’s more, that it bears significant responsibility for a wide range of social ills, including stagnant wages, increasing inequality, high unemployment, and overall economic lethargy. However, as analyzed in this paper, the preponderance of evidence suggests that the U.S. education system has produced ample supplies of students to respond to STEM labor market demand. The “pipeline” of STEM-potential students is similarly strong and expanding.
