This article reviews significant contributions made by Joe L. Kincheloe to critical research in science education, especially through a multimethodological, multitheoretical, and multidisciplinary informed lens that incorporates social, cultural, political, economic, and cognitive dynamics—the bricolage. Kincheloe’s ideas provide for a compelling understanding of, and insights into, the forces that shape the intricacies of teaching and learning science and science education. They have implications in improving science education policies, in developing actions that challenge and cultivate the intellect while operating in ways that are more understanding of difference and are socially just.

Gillian U. Bayne   is an assistant professor of science education at Lehman College, City University of New York. Having also completed a master’s degree in secondary science education at New York University, she has taught science both in New York City’s public school system and in independent schools for over 10 years. I describe how Joe Kincheloe experienced learning from a peer during his pre-school life only to see how his friend was unable to succeed at school. Joe’s commitment to empowered cognition was grounded first, by his friend, Larry’s mentorship—teaching him the environmental nuances of the mountains in rural Tennessee, and secondly, the contradiction of schooling being unable to afford learning for Larry. This article discusses how Kincheloe became a scholar, the salience of Einstein’s work with his own, and the evolution of his research and scholarship. Examples of Kincheloe’s work addressed are: postformalism, bricolage, critical theory, and alternative knowledges, and how this work has contributed to science education.

在分析组织战略柔性路径依赖性的基础上,以中国制造企业为例,首先,研究了实施资源拼凑对制造企业战略柔性发展造成的正面和负面影响。指出:资源拼凑能在一定程度上破解制造企业创新资源匮乏的难题、能为组织发展战略柔性积累资源、强化组织战略的自主控制权。但是,必须要克服资源拼凑的短期效应,如不利于获得员工认同、削弱了伙伴的关系强度等;其次,剖析了资源拼凑与制造企业吸收能力的关系,认为个人吸收能力是资源拼凑成功的关键;最后,提出制造企业亟需采取措施培育员工个人吸收能力,以此推动企业实施资源拼凑,进而提升组织战略柔性并促进制造企业转型升级。  相似文献

The way in which educators choose to engage with learners and to offer opportunities to share knowledge of both the physical world and the world of ideas is an ongoing area of international research interest but remains diffuse and difficult to systematise. This idiosyncratic quality underscores the privileged position of teachers as creative professionals. By exploring Claude Lévi-Strauss’s conception of how and for what purpose we share knowledge within society, this paper explores the relationship between perceptions of teachers’ professional role and the challenges they face working within formal education systems. The artisan quality of teachers’ practice, gained through experience, association and personal commitment, makes possible a visualisation of teacher professionalism as bricolage that, when read alongside theories of teacher agency, generates an affirmative picture of how teacher professionalism may be reframed as creative and responsive rather than homogenous and mechanistic.  相似文献

Improvisation occurs when the design and execution of novel activities converge. Drawing on three samples of young firms, this inductive study investigates the existence, channels and implications of strategic improvisation in knowledge-intensive new businesses. Our study suggests that not only may founding itself be improvisational in some cases, but improvisational processes and issues permeate entrepreneurial activity and have non-obvious implications for emergent firm strategies and competencies. We develop propositions in four domains: (1) the occurrence of strategic improvisation; (2) tactical improvisation rising to the level of strategy; (3) network bricolage; and (4) improvisational competencies. This study contributes to research on organizational improvisation, bricolage and entrepreneurship. Theoretically and in practice, both improvisation and bricolage represent potentially rich additions to the vocabulary of entrepreneurial action.  相似文献

The aim of this article is to trace some lines of thinking towards a conceptualization of the uniqueness of the creative work of museums, the mode of creativeness that belongs exclusively to museums, or at least that museums are capable of by virtue of the types of materials and forms as well as activities unique to what will be referred to as museography. This is linked to the question of what it is that constitutes the uniqueness of museum work as a professional field. The article characterizes the uniqueness of museum professional knowledge primarily in terms of a mode of creativeness, or bricolage in Levi-Strauss’s sense, mediated through the museographic form, and applied to the chance assemblies of materials to generate museum-specific modes of engaging questions—across science, culture, and society—particularly through creating unique temporal arrangements, or durations, that provoke thought, learning, and engagement on museographic terms. Museography’s originality, it is argued, consists in a bricolage that works through the museum’s unique material and form to create learning resources and encounters, museographic assemblages that depart from a conception of linear time as the space of evolutionary narrative to facilitate the experience of Bergsonian durations.  相似文献

基于拼凑理论探讨资源拼凑、双元创新能力对企业商业模式影响的结构方程模型,并且结合271家涉及陕西、浙江、成都、甘肃、青海等地的高技术企业的样本数据,实证分析结果表明,资源拼凑分别对新颖型模式创新和效率型模式创新具有显著的正向影响;资源拼凑对企业双元创新能力具有显著的正向影响;渐进性创新能力对新颖型模式创新的影响不显著,但是对效率型模式创新具有显著的正向影响;突破性创新能力分别对新颖型模式创新和效率型模式创新具有显著的正向影响。中国企业在创新过程中需要重视资源拼凑的巧妙组合和重新排列,才能提升双元创新能力,在技术革新非常快的环境下,有效利用好手头的资源进行创新,获得与之相匹配的商业模式是每个企业应该追求的。企业不仅能够在短期内获取较好的绩效和市场规模,在长期发展中可以获得新颖型的商业模式。  相似文献

We develop a perspective on technology entrepreneurship as involving agency that is distributed across different kinds of actors. Each actor becomes involved with a technology, and, in the process, generates inputs that result in the transformation of an emerging technological path. The steady accumulation of inputs to a technological path generates a momentum that enables and constrains the activities of distributed actors. In other words, agency is not only distributed, but it is embedded as well. We explicate this perspective through a comparative study of processes underlying the emergence of wind turbines in Denmark and in United States. Through our comparative study, we flesh out “bricolage” and “breakthrough” as contrasting approaches to the engagement of actors in shaping technological paths.  相似文献
