和平崛起背景下的国防建设和军事体育

和平崛起是一个时代的话语，是新一届中央政府治国和外交的战略新思维。中国是一个历史悠久的明古国，有深厚的化底蕴，为和平崛起理念提供了坚实的化根基和历史依据。在和平崛起视野下，国防建设和军事体育要具有新的战略思路，体制创新，内涵发展，为民族之复兴和抵御外患，肩负起时代赋予的使命。     

改革以来教育在经济领域中是否存在公平效率的改进

经济的持续增长依赖于教育所提供的智力支持,本文利用Klenow and Rodriguez-Clare发展的核算方法对改革开放以来中国教育在经济领中的增长因素进行了分解。我们有如下三个主要发现：首先,1978年以来中国教育效率提高非常迅速,对经济产出增长的贡献超过其他领域对经济产出增长的贡献;其次,1990年之前效率提高最主要的因素是社会经济二元结构转换,1990年之后则为净效率提高;最后,改革前的增长是要素驱动的,扣除人力资本和结构转换因素之后的净效率是快速下降的。敏感性分析表明,我们的结论是稳健的。     

Wall base ventilation system to treat rising damp: The influence of the size of the channels

One of the major causes of pathologies in our historic buildings is the presence of moisture, particularly rising damp. Since these constructions tended to be built near water lines, to facilitate their supply, and because their walls are mainly made of high porosity materials, the presence of rising damp is constant. Although many historic buildings in Portugal have already been the targets of interventions to eliminate pathologies, the fact is that it has not been possible to do it properly. The treatment techniques available nowadays are quite diverse but all of them have low applicability to historic constructions. Research has been carried out, in this past years, at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Coimbra in collaboration with Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto to try and solve this problem. An old but poorly studied technique has been investigated experimentally and numerically in the past few years: ventilation of the base of the walls. It was experimentally validated to limestone walls 20 cm thick. Numerical investigation has been carried out in order to analyze the influence of different parameters on its efficiency. In this paper we present the results of the latest investigations that have been carried out about the influence of the size of the ventilation channel on its efficiency.

Diagnosing Decay Mechanisms at the Porta Nocera Necropolis,Pompeii: The First Step Towards Effective Preventive Conservation

ABSTRACT

Aspects of preventive conservation are central to the long-term preservation of archaeological sites such as Pompeii. Mitigating moisture ingress and its manifold effects on decay mechanisms such as salt degradation are of critical importance when planning durable conservation strategies. A suite of non-destructive techniques was used to diagnose decay mechanisms at an ancient tomb monument at the Porta Nocera Necropolis. Rising damp and salt contamination are shown to be actively contributing to on-going deterioration of the plaster surfaces. An existing shelter is shown to be inadequate in its protection. These initial results are used to inform a more in-depth, long-term survey as well as the design of a holistic preventive strategy.
