Breaking Down Barriers for Student Parents and Caregivers with Family-Friendly Library Spaces

Abstract

In 2016, J. Murrey Atkins Library at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte opened a reservable study room where student parents and caregivers can study with their children on campus. In 2018, the library opened a second family-friendly study room to meet the needs of our growing campus community. To inform the room design, the library conducted a mixed methods research study that included a user survey, an examination of room reservation and usage data, and one-on-one user interviews. This paper focuses on the user-centered design process used to inform the development of the second, family-friendly, library study room.     

汇川H2U系列PLC之间RS-485通信的实现

主要研究了汇川公司H2U可编程控制器(PLC)的通信技术,实现了两个H2U系列PLC之间基于RS-485的通信,并详细介绍了PLC之间通信的硬件连接方式、通信串口参数配置、触摸屏画面的设计以及程序实现。所讨论的方法已在采用H2U PLC及辅助设备组建的"运动控制系统"课程的教学实验平台上进行了验证,可以拓展应用于多台H2U PLC之间以及其他设备与H2U PLC之间的RS-485通信实现,对工程应用具有一定的借鉴意义。     

The influence of maltreatment history and out-of-home-care on children’s language and social skills

This study examined the extent to which maltreatment history and the characteristics of out-of-home care correlated with the language and social skills of maltreated children. Participants in this study were 82 maltreated children aged between 5 and 12 years of age. All children were residing with state-designated carers in out-of-home-care. The children were presented with standardised tests assessing language and social skills. Results showed that the sample performed significantly below the normative mean on both tests. Correlation analyses showed social skills, but not language skills were correlated with aspects of maltreatment history. The education level of the state-designated carer/s was correlated with the children's language skills; higher education level was associated with higher language skills. The study provides evidence that at the group level, language and social skills are poor in maltreated children. However, gains in language skills might be made via the out-of-home-care environment. Improvements in the social skills of maltreated children may require additional support.     

Digital Module 05: Diagnostic Measurement—The G‐DINA Framework https://ncme.elevate.commpartners.com

In this ITEMS module, we introduce the generalized deterministic inputs, noisy “and” gate (G‐DINA) model, which is a general framework for specifying, estimating, and evaluating a wide variety of cognitive diagnosis models. The module contains a nontechnical introduction to diagnostic measurement, an introductory overview of the G‐DINA model, as well as common special cases, and a review of model‐data fit evaluation practices within this framework. We use the flexible GDINA R package, which is available for free within the R environment and provides a user‐friendly graphical interface in addition to the code‐driven layer. The digital module also contains videos of worked examples, solutions to data activity questions, curated resources, a glossary, and quizzes with diagnostic feedback.     

白板在小学体育室内教学中的应用

伴随信息技术的快速发展,运用白板开展教学活动的现象日益普及。在很多学科教学中,教师都开始应用白板,以取代传统的运用黑板开展教学的方式。通过运用该种方式,课堂教学时生生互动和师生互动的比例明显增多,课堂教学更加生动高效。在小学低段体育教学中,受诸多因素的影响,室内教学占有一定的比重,教师通过运用白板,有助于丰富课堂教学内容,提升教学趣味性和实效性。     

提升高职足球教学训练水平的路径研究

作为一项历史悠久的运动,足球运动深受全民喜爱,有着广泛的扩展范围和巨大的影响力。近些年来,高职院校的足球教学取得一定的进步和发展,对于学生身体素质的锻炼起到积极的促进作用。然而,进步并不等同于完美,高职院校的足球教学仍然存在诸多问题,要想提升足球训练水平,必须要解决这些问题,创新教学思想,改善训练方式,保证足球教学的规范性、科学性、系统性,使足球训练具备的提升学生身体协调性的作用充分发挥出来。基于此,本文就如何提升高职足球教学训练水平进行论述。     

啦啦操运动在中学体育教学活动中的推广运用研究

在深入贯彻德智体美劳全面发展的教育观念的背景下,中学体育教育不断被学校、家长所重视,在中学体育教学中丰富体育课程形式成为实现全面发展的重要途径,啦啦操运动以其独特的魅力成为中学体育教学中重要的组成部分,因此本文首先从啦啦操运动的慨念出发,分析啦啦操运动在中学体育发展与教学运用的重要意义,其次,对啦啦操运动本身的美学特征与内涵进行研究,最后,浅析啦啦操运动在中学体育教学中的运用推广策略。     

习近平新时代体育强国思想的马克思唯物主义立场及价值引领

运用文献资料法、辩证分析法、逻辑推理法等研究方法，对习近平新时代体育强国思想的马克思唯物主义立场进行了演绎与阐释。研究认为：在马克思唯物主义立场层面，习近平新时代体育强国思想坚持体育强国梦与实现中华民族伟大复兴中国梦一脉相承的历史唯物主义立场和普遍联系的辩证唯物主义立场；坚持在体育强国建设进程中遵循问题导向的唯物主义本体论立场；坚持体育强国建设要利用好国际与国内两种资源的唯物主义内外因辩证关系的立场。在新的历史时期，习近平新时代体育强国思想引领着竞技体育、群众体育、体育产业等领域的发展理念和价值，创新与发展了马克思主义哲学的实践结构和理论视角，为开创新时代中国特色社会主义体育事业的新局面提供了坚实的理论基础和实践支持。     

The effect of number of siblings and birth order on educational attainment: Empirical Evidence from Chinese General Social Survey

Data from China demonstrate that the effect of the number of siblings on education is restricted by many factors, such as children’s gender, urban or rural household registration, whether there is only one child, the birth order of children within the family, and parents’ status. Chinese families have significant preferences for the eldest son and the youngest son. Moreover, research based on the natural experiment and instrumental variable approach suggests that market-oriented reform of education has increased the cost of family education expenditures since China’s reform and opening up, which further aggravates the negative impact on education of having many siblings in an urban setting.
