“启航吧！圣玛利亚号”课程教案

本课程依托中国航海博物馆“世界航海五百年”特展,重点诠释高中历史课程中“全球航路的开辟”这一课的相关内容。在教学理念与方法上,本课程将团体心理游戏和情境教学法相结合,通过博物馆展品这类独特的实物史料,带领学生主动探索和发现知识,培养高中学生的历史学科核心素养,使学生了解新航路开辟所引发的全球性流动,并学会使用联系的观点看待新航路开辟对中国的影响。     

从藏品到展品，从沉默者到讲述者——科学博物馆藏品向展品的转化模式与传播效果分析

现代科学博物馆与传统珍品收藏所的根本区别之一,即“藏品转化为展品”。对于科学博物馆来说,其展览品质和功能的实现,很大程度上取决于藏品转化为展品的深度和质量。通过理论研究和实践分析,笔者提出“图文转化”“多媒体转化”“机械与机电互动转化”和“叙事场景转化”四种藏品向展品的转化模式,旨在充分激活藏品功能,挖掘出其中的信息内涵并呈现给观众,最终实现展品展陈及博物馆教育的多重价值。     

科技成就类科普展品的展示创意——以“创新决胜未来——庆祝改革开放40周年科技成就科普展”为例

本文围绕科技馆策划科技成就展的展品创意进行探讨,针对相关展览的现状及问题,分析展品的目的性及其与观众的联系,分别对展品创意中可能的展示点及展示手段进行了梳理归类,并以“创新决胜未来——庆祝改革开放40周年科技成就科普展”为实例,对展示点及展示手段在实际工作中的体现予以阐释。     

Estimating the real growth effects of blockbuster art exhibits: A time series approach

This paper addresses the evaluation of real growth forecasts made by impact studies. Intervention analysis is used to estimate the ex post impact of blockbuster exhibits on economic growth in Jackson, Mississippi (chosen because state and local governments provide regular subsidies to finance the exhibitions). Non-farm employment measures real economic growth and dummy variables capture the occurrence of the exhibitions. Univariate time series techniques identify and estimate a stationary process after filtering the data for seasonal and cyclical effects. The analysis estimates the short run impact on Jackson’s filtered employment series due to the blockbuster exhibitions as approximately 700 jobs.     

“基于科技馆展品的项目制学习”教学设计——“鲁班的工具箱”课程教案

本教案选自厦门科技馆“HPS(科学史、科学哲学、科学社会学)下的教育活动——吾爱吾师工作坊”教育项目。该项目依托厦门科技馆常设展厅中的古代建筑及榫卯类展品,结合小学《科学课标》中关于“技术的核心是发明,是人们对自然的利用和改造”“使用和制作简易的古代仪器模型”的教学目标进行活动开发,重点讲述“榫卯的结构与功能、榫卯结构在古建筑中的应用”等科学内容。本教案将“基于展品的项目制学习”作为基本教学模式,通过情境教学法和项目制学习,结合科技馆展品融入地方特色,引导学生掌握具体科学知识,帮助学生理解“科学的应用常常会对社会经济产生影响”的概念。     

通过“二次开发”加强展品教育功能的有效性

展品是科技馆有别于其他教育机构的主要教育资源,但如果展品仅是单纯展示而不辅之以必要的教育活动,其教育功能往往难以充分实现。通过考察分析和开发教育活动的实践,笔者认为:欲充分实现展品的教育功能,引导观众深入思考、主动探索,须通过教育活动对其教育资源进行“二次开发”。本文主要介绍了科技馆展品“二次开发”的概念、必要性、类型,并结合具体案例论述了其实现的方法与途径。     

提高科技馆展品运行稳定性对策的思考

操作体验型展品是科技馆中最受观众欢迎的展品,也是最容易损坏的展品。以往对这个问题的研究多是强调展品设计制作中相关构件的强度及结构合理性。作者根据展品设计与维修的实践体会,通过分析展品运行常见问题,提出应予关注的另外四个重要因素:展品的辅助性设计、展品“互动性”设计的取舍、展品电气控制部分设计制作、展品原型实验,提出相应对策,且通过案例实践证明了对策的有效性。     

Broadening Impact for Library Exhibitions and Speakers

Libraries curate exhibitions and host speakers to promote collections and engage communities. Traditional library exhibit spaces present information gaps for visitors. To bridge these gaps, the University of Florida (UF) created and deployed innovative technologies, the Community Engagement Engine (CEE) for iPads (handheld and kiosks). The CEE facilitates visitor's registration as well as questions and comments sent directly to curators with automated email responses with relevant materials. The CEE allows libraries to aggregate visitor information for targeted outreach and assessment. This article discusses the CEE for innovative community engagement, including considerations for other institutions interested in engaged exhibitions programs.     

Frankenstein @ Our Library–Monstrous Opportunities for Marketing

Abstract

When the Coates Library received notification that the ALA Traveling Exhibition on Frankenstein would be visiting Trinity University, staff reacted with excitement but also with a twinge of fear about all the effort entailed in developing programs and creating a major publicity campaign. This article focuses on the challenges the exhibit presented: who to turn to for help; how to involve members of the campus community; what to use for effective publicity; how to balance education and entertainment in the programs and their advertising; where to seek funds; and how to present three weeks of programming without exhausting the planners or overwhelming potential audiences.     

Symbols of service: Oral histories of veterans tattoos as outreach

Outreach to special populations can be a sensitive endeavor, especially when the population, such as veterans, has a unique life experience in comparison to the general population. The use of oral histories for engagement and outreach can be a useful tool in making a connection to the veteran population because it gives them an opportunity to talk without being judged and the library a chance to listen. This case study highlights the collaboration between the library and the campus veteran center in an effort to come together and showcase veteran stories around their tattoos.
