A cognitive perspective on second language acquisition process

Second language acquisition (SLA) has been one of the central topics in cognitive science. Various theories regarding the SLA process have evolved and have been a subject of debate over the years. With a critical review of the competing theories of cognition and language development, this paper examines the differences between L1 and L2 acquisitional processes and then proposes a model of SLA process from a cognitive information-processing perspective. The pedagogic implications of this model are also discussed.

从经济学家到心理学家  ——西蒙主要心理学思想述评

西蒙(Simon,1916—2001)是当代著名的心理学家和经济学家,也是最出名的多学科专家。西蒙的心理学思想主要表现在管理心理学和认知心理学上,他是现代管理决策理论的创立者,也是信息加工心理学的奠基者,提出了著名的"物理符号系统假设"。本文阐述了管理决策理论的理论基础、决策的原则、类型和决策过程中的信息问题,描述了信息加工心理学的基本原理、人类认知的基本过程和重要的人类认知现象,并在此基础上对西蒙的心理学思想进行了评价。     

Self-efficacy,information-processing strategies,and acquisition of health knowledge

Informed by the Cognitive Mediation Model of media learning, this study explores how self-efficacy and information-processing strategies jointly impact the learning of health knowledge. Using survey data (N=1409), the study examines the roles that self-efficacy, motivation of media use, news attention, and elaboration play in acquiring knowledge about swine flu during the 2009 global pandemic crisis. Results support the hypothesized relationships among self-efficacy, motivation, attention to and elaboration of swine flu news, and knowledge about the flu. Implications of the findings to advance the research in mediated cognitive learning are discussed.

Individual and Distributed Cognitions in Interdisciplinary Teamwork: A Developing Case Study and Emerging Theory

We present a developing distributed cognition theory of interdisciplinary collaboration that incorporates concepts from both situated cognition and information-processing theory. This theoretical framework is being refined as it is used for analyzing interdisciplinary collaboration within the National Institute for Science Education (NISE). Our analyses are intended to improve scientific understanding of collaborative processes that influence productivity and quality of interdisciplinary work within the NISE and beyond. A critical group meeting in the early development of one interdisciplinary working team is analyzed using language and ideas from our theoretical perspective.     

论科学心理学的三种范式

科学心理学的发展先后呈现出心理主义范式、行为主义范式与信息加工范式三种方法论样态.在对心理学成为自然科学应有的方法论选择上,三种范式的做法各有千秋,展示出科学心理学追寻心理学独特个性的曲折历程.心理学的未来发展仍需以辩证唯物主义观点看待人的本质,真正确立与人的全面本质相适应的心理学研究方式.

从信息加工角度诠释Krashen输入假说理论,指出其自身存在的局限性,以期对外语教学有所启发。     

龟鹤拳对中老年人信息加工能力的影响

采用回溯性研究设计,运用观察、访谈、心理测量等方法对天津市区不同练习年限的龟鹤拳练习者的信息加工能力进行测量评价。研究结果显示：①龟鹤拳对中老年人的认知信息加工能力的下降有明显的延缓和改善作用,这一作用主要体现在处理复杂信息的能力上,如反应速度、记忆容量、思维灵活性和注意力的改善;②随着练习时间的延长,这种效应表现更明显;③龟鹤拳可以作为促进中老年人心理健康的一种锻炼方式。
