教育:全球化、本土化与本土生长——从比较教育学的角度观照

民族主义和世界主义是比较教育学研究中的一对观念上的基本矛盾 ,在全球化的后殖民时代背景下 ,这对矛盾又有新的表现。本土化无法成为弱势文化有效的解殖出路 ,在“和”的模式中寻求多元发展 ,第三世界的教育和文化才有可能在本土生长中逐步解殖     

赛义德后殖民理论对葛兰西文化领导权理论的借鉴和改造

赛义德的后殖民理论从三个方面借鉴了葛兰西的化领导权理论，即强调在化领域进行革命的重要性，把知识与权力联系在一起以及把革命重任寄托在知识分子身上；同时又在三个方面对葛兰西的化领导权理论进行了改造，即哲学上的反本质主义改造，立场上的折衷主义改造和化上的多元主义改造。     

The De Kretser case: a note on Sri Lankan writing in English

Abstract

How is the content of a literary canon, or tradition to be configured? What counts as a literary archive? More than 25 years after Edward Said’s Orientalism (1978 Said, W. Edward. 1978. Orientalism, New York: Vintage.  [Google Scholar]), it seems reasonable to assume, that central to such traditions, would be the work of those who live and work in the society that gives rise to it. In this review, such a location of Michele de Kretser’s new novel, The Hamilton Case, is offered, as a caution to metropolitan literary critics who continue to approach Sri Lankan writing in English, as Christopher Columbus approached ‘America’. It is argued that the novel owes much to, and can be read as echoing and elaborating the detective fiction of S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, who was, also, the fourth Prime Minister of Ceylon (Sri Lanka), 1956–59.     

“We bleed for female empowerment”: mediated ethics,commodity feminism,and the contradictions of feminist politics

Discourses of female empowerment are increasingly prominent within ethical capitalism, which seeks to remedy global crises with private-sector solutions and their commodities. This article examines the intersecting manifestations of female empowerment, commodity activism, and ethical capitalism with case studies on Born Free Africa, a fashion collection combatting mother-to-child HIV transmission, and THINX, which sells “period-proof” panties. Each company articulates empowerment through a binary between the Western feminist savior and “in-need” woman of the global south. This article argues that this iteration of empowerment not only reinforces logics of neo-colonial capitalism, but also masks disciplinary regimes for individual feminine subjects.     

(Re)creating spaces for uMunthu: postcolonial theory and environmental education in southern Africa

Colonialism goes beyond territorial conquest: it affects one’s epistemological stance, worldviews and perceptions. Although most African countries gained independence in the 1960s, the impacts of colonialism continue to be present through modern-day globalization as a form of neocolonialism. Education systems in many countries in southern Africa continue to be grounded in Western viewpoints, marginalizing local Indigenous ways of knowing and being (I capitalize the word ‘Indigenous’ because it is a proper noun referring to particular people, their knowledges, ways of living, etc.). An increased number of scholars in southern Africa are engaging with counter-hegemonic strategies as frames of analysis to counter the impacts of neocolonialism. This paper reviews environmental education studies in southern Africa that have applied postcolonial theory as a frame of analysis either explicitly or implicitly. Postcolonial theory provides a platform to challenge the dominant truths espoused by Western thought. In doing so, it paves the way for other truths to have space in the knowledge discourses, including the sub-Saharan African worldview of Ubuntu/uMunthu. While many scholars are engaging with counter-hegemonic strategies, the review calls for the need for further research from postcolonial frames not only in southern Africa but also other parts of the world as well.

从后殖民主义角度研究了莫里森的小说《宠儿》,莫里森通过对小说人物的塑造实现了对非裔美国人身份的探索,在对身份缺失根源的追寻和身份回归的探索中,逐渐形成了一种理想的身份状态,即身份的杂糅,这对于当代非裔美国人的生存与发展具有启示意义。     

土地、女人和狗：《耻》的后殖民生态批评解读

南非作家J.M.库切将小说《耻》置于后殖民和全球化语境下,通过小说中描写的土地、女性遭强暴事件和动物问题体现了殖民主义与生态毁坏的共谋关系。本文从后殖民生态批评视阈出发,通过分析小说中所展现的人类对土地的争夺、男性对女性的征服及暴力以及人类对动物的虐杀,展示了作家对人类生存环境、女性问题及动物问题的人道主义关怀。     

《环境的力量》中的伦理困境与身份认同

《环境的力量》收录在毛姆短篇小说集《木麻黄树》中,讲述了主人公盖伊在殖民地的生活经历与情感困惑.本文运用文学伦理学批评的理论与方法探讨其中复杂的伦理关系.通过对盖伊伦理困境、伦理选择的剖析,揭示出以英国文化为代表的西方文明与以马来文化为代表的东方文明之间的不对等关系.     

切肤之痛 痛定思痛——关于后殖民理论的思考

在经过后现代主义思潮冲击以后。西方文化中一切假想的“中心”意识和等级观念均被打破。在这新的多元共生之格局下。后殖民主义异军突起，但当今西方学术理论界对之有很大争议，有必要进行认真梳理。以推进探讨的进一步深入。
