Decoding digital transformational outsourcing: The role of service providers’ capabilities

The business process outsourcing industry has got disrupted, first by the significant shift in value creation activities from the clients to the service providers, and second by pervasive digital penetration, resulting in the emergence of Digital Transformational Outsourcing (DTO). Service providers now play a more significant role, making their capabilities important. In the new context, service providers require a uniquely different set of dynamic capabilities to handle end-to-end business functions on behalf of their clients while delivering digital value propositions.We study 26 of the largest global business process outsourcing providers to conceptualise and identify six dynamic capabilities of service providers salient in the new context, i.e., consultative, orchestration, insights, network management, knowledge access, and standardisation. Interviews conducted with industry experts provided evidence in support of the identified dynamic capabilities. A novel firm capability dataset was created using secondary data, and using fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA), we identify configurations for high and low performance and find them to vary by the firm's broad/narrow scope.

文章以企业能力与组织边界相关研究成果为指导,结合目前已成功实施的部分图书馆众包案例,对馆藏特色数字资源的规划、建设与服务过程展开分析研究。文章认为馆藏特色数字资源众包不仅利于增强图书馆建设数字特藏的能力,也有利于提升馆员专业能力、提高用户满意度、提升图书馆知识服务与创新能力,进而增强图书馆核心能力,不断扩大组织边界。最后文章提出图书馆需重新审视功能定位,确保核心能力与竞争优势,真正服务于知识经济和现代信息社会的建设。     

中外图书馆联盟组织文化管理模式比较研究

文章阐述了组织文化对图书馆联盟的重要意义,从物质层次、行为层次、制度层次、精神层次上界定图书馆联盟组织文化管理的构成要素,以国内外高校、公共、科研、跨系统4类图书馆联盟为调查对象,总结各自的优势与不足,提出了人际关系模式和层级管理模式两种适合我国图书馆联盟的组织文化管理模式。     

让有限经费发挥最大效益——经济欠发达地区图书馆文献资源购置费使用案例

近年来,国家对公共文化事业的投入大幅增加,但仍有不少经济欠发达地区的图书馆文献资源购置经费依然是捉襟见肘.本文提供了黑龙江省图书馆280万元文献购置经费的使用案例,试图为相同情况的图书馆展示一个相对科学、比较合理的经费使用方案.更期盼本文能引起业界对如下问题的思考:图书馆的文献资源购置费是否越多越好?如果持否定态度,那么究竟多少为宜?标准应如何设定?     

Communicating Knowing Through Communities of Practice: Exploring Internal Communicative Processes and Differences Among CoPs

Knowing is an enacted, communicated process that is difficult to observe, let alone manage, in organizations. Communities of practice (CoPs) offer a productive solution for improving knowledge and knowledge management, but the communicative processes that enact CoPs have not been explored, leaving CoPs as an organizational black box. This research extends CoP theory as a means to determine the presence of a CoP and distinguish between various CoPs, and as a practical means to evaluate the communicative processes of organizational knowledge. CoPs enact the communicative nature of knowing through the elements of mutual engagement, negotiation of a joint enterprise, and shared repertoire. Specifically, two groups of volunteers are examined through a combination of participation, observation, and interviews in order to explore CoP theory as a dynamic system for examining and evaluating organizational knowledge.     

Masculinity(s), the agrarian frontier myth, and cooperative ways of organizing: contradictions and tensions in the experience and enactment of democracy

This study explores how members of the Nebraska Cooperative Council and its constituent producer-owned cooperatives understand and enact democratic ideologies, drawing particular attention to how emergent contradictions and tensions are experienced and managed. The Council serves as a particularly rich context in which to explore traditionally feminine ways of organizing (i.e., cooperative enactment) in a historically male-dominated arena (i.e., agriculture). The dialectic of independence and solidarity became a revealing prism through which to make sense of how members enact cooperative life. This dialectic manifests itself in the discourse of cooperative life as members struggle to manage tensions between efficiency and participation, equality and equity, and the paradox of agency. Communication theorizing about gendered organizing and the history of American agrarianism is used to explore intersections between the social construction of masculinity(s), the agrarian frontier myth, and tensions embedded in the discourse of cooperative organizing.     

论大学图书馆部门组织设计

按照部门组织设计中部门技术框架理论,当今大学图书馆应设立的文献资源建设、信息服务和技术保障三个部门,均会受到技术例行性和技术依存性的影响。文献资源建设部门表现为技艺性技术和序列性依存,信息服务部门表现为例行性技术和集合性依存,技术保障部门则表现为工程性技术和相互性依存。高校馆在调配员工时应充分考虑这些部门的技术特点。图3。表1。参考文献5。     

组织文化与文化塑造——图书馆管理的视角转换

图书馆组织文化表现在三个方面,即物质环境、内部人际关系、价值观念和思维方式。图书馆组织文化要从共同目标、职业精神和职业道德着手设计。图书馆组织文化的培育是一个长期奋斗的过程。参考文献3。     

Family Communication Patterns as Predictors of Organizational Dissent: A Replication Study

This study replicated a previous research project addressing connections between family-of-origin communication and organizational dissent expression. We predicted that family communication patterns (FCPs), specifically conversation and conformity orientations, would predict upward, lateral, and displaced dissent. As in the original study, significant findings emerged for upward dissent and conformity orientation. This replication study indicated family type as an inconsistent predictor of expressed dissent. Contrary to the original study, we found no evidence to support a connection between pluralistic family types and upward dissent. Finally, as an extension of the original study we analyzed effects of FCPs on displaced dissent, finding an inverse association with conversation orientation. Implications for future research are discussed.
