简论有中国特色的信息文化构建

“以信息化带工业化,发挥后发优势,实现社会生产力的跨越式发展”,为我国的信息文化构建提供了实践依据;文化概念四层次说,为我国信息文化建设提供理论依据。二者有机结合,便产生了有中国特色信息文化系统模式——信息文化的物质文化子系统、信息文化的精神观念子系统、信息文化的行为方式子系统、信息文化的制度规范子系统。有中国特色的信息文化建设也正是紧紧围绕这四个方面进行。     

Conventionalism defended: a reply to Moore

In a recent article in this Journal, Eric Moore criticized an earlier essay of mine published in this same Journal on two fronts. On the first, he criticized my criticisms of broad internalism for relying on abstract moral principles too far removed from the practice of sport to adjudicate normative conflicts in which disputants cannot agree on what is the purpose of sport. On the second front, he criticized my reliance on what he called Rorty’s “controversial” views of truth and rationality to back up my criticisms of broad internalism. I find both criticisms forceful but not persuasive. In my reply, therefore, I defend both use of Rorty’s and other similar historicist takes on rational justification and my criticisms of broad internalism principles-based approach to normative inquiry in sport.     

Reception of Stuart Hall in the Korean intellectual field

After Stuart Hall’s death in 2014, Korean newspapers ran detailed obituaries praising him as an influential British intellectual figure. The broad media attention appears to be unusual, given that he maintained a relatively unknown presence in the Korean cultural fields compared with other theorists. This work examines how and in which context Hall’s writings have been cited, or not cited, and emphasized in the Korean cultural studies. The incorporation of Hall’s writings into the resources of the academic field entangled him in scholarly rituals of parochial citations and applications, resulting in the fragmentation and de-contextualization of Hall’s overall problem. The selective focus on and occasional absence of certain aspects among his intellectual and political legacies may demonstrate how imported British cultural studies have, or not yet, been indigenized and localized in Korean cultural and political contexts.

Comic Cons and Libraries: Opportunities for Patron Outreach

ABSTRACT

Comic books and graphic novels are a common part of public library collections. This research used quantitative survey methodologies to investigate the library-based behaviors and attitudes of attendees of a large metropolitan comic book convention. The intent is to provide context for librarians interested in patron outreach through comic cons. Results found that comic con attendees are library patrons, and provided clues for other types of outreach to related populations.     

Internationalizing Reference Education

Reference instruction should also involve preparing library and information science students for working with international students. There are numerous options for embedding such content into courses. In addition, professional organizations offers students with many opportunities to launch their international experiences.

从思维方式的角度对中西翻译理论进行比较，可以看出中西思维方式在悟性和理性、形象和抽象，历史和超前方面存在的差异，这种差异影响和制约着中西翻译理论传统在研究方法上概括笼统与条分缕析、语言表述上含蓄与明了、论证形式上应用型与理论型、微观与宏观以及学科形态上保守单一和开放多元的差别。中西翻译理论之间客观存在的差异可以从中西哲学和社会文化思想的差异上得到解释。
