Reimaging Public Libraries as Learning Communities: What Library Stories Can Tell Us

This article describes a study conducted in York County, Pennsylvania, on its countywide library system framed within the context of the statewide “Reimaging Libraries” Get Storied initiative, developed and marketed by organizational story consultant, Michael Margolis. Understood as an essential aspect of culture re-imaging and change, narratives were collected from library personnel by undergraduate students at Pennsylvania State University-York as part of a service-learning initiative (directed by the first author). Working closely with the library district consultant (second author), we assess the success of the initiative and make some recommendations for culture reimaging through the practice of storytelling.

Assessing preschoolers’ emergent literacy skills in English and Spanish with the Get Ready to Read! screening tool

This study investigated the ability of the English and Spanish versions of the Get Ready to Read! Screener (E-GRTR and S-GRTR) administered at the beginning of the preschool year to predict the oral language and phonological and print processing skills of Spanish-speaking English-language learners (ELLs) and English-only speaking children (EO) at the end of the year. The results revealed that the E-GRTR predicted the EO and ELL children’s English emergent literacy skills and the ELL children’s Spanish emergent literacy skills, and the S-GRTR predicted the ELL children’s English and Spanish emergent literacy skills. For both groups, the E-GRTR and the S-GRTR were better at predicting children’s print knowledge in English and Spanish compared to the other emergent literacy measures. The findings suggest that both screeners can be used effectively to assess preschool children’s emergent literacy skills.

运用文献、调查、对比等方法，对体育专业和非体育专业大学生可得性心理能力进行研究，探讨心理成就动机、工作综合素质能力、人生价值观对大学生的成长作用。运用卡氏16PF、个体成就问卷、陶国富成才心理问卷，对520名不同专业的大学生进行测试比较。结果表明：体育专业的大学生在人生观、人文素质方面与非体育专业的大学生存在差距，揭示我国高校体育专业大学生的心理特点和教育教学的薄弱环节，以利于认识和培养全面发展的合格人才。

总结基本RS触发器、同步RS触发器、主从RS触发器和主从JK触发器等不同电路结构触发器的动作特点,特别对不定态、空翻．一次翻转等进行讨论．以便学生理解和记忆。     

关于高校毕业生创业可行性的思考

高校毕业生自主创业将成为大学生就业的一大发展趋势,而建立起立体开放、相互支持的创业平台是其关键。为此需要国家尽快出台鼓励、扶持高校毕业生创业的具体政策和配套措施;高校需对大学生进行创业教育,并加快自身的教育管理体制改革;高校毕业生则要树立起创业意识,通过广泛的市场调研和社会实践以提高创业能力。     

浅论拾得遗失物的相关法律问题

从现行民事立法分析，遗失物属于特定主体享有所有权的有主物，但是由于遗失这一法律事件的发生，所有人依法行使物上请求权的同时应向拾得者支付相应费用，拾得者在承担归还义务的同时也享有费用请求权，还可以基于失主的承诺获取报酬。在夸后的立法中，笔者认为应该确立拾得者的报酬请求权和附条件的取得遗失物所有权。

中国朝鲜族文学,是用现代朝鲜族文学语言和文学形式来表达现代朝鲜族人的思想、感情、心理的文学。所以,我们的作家们应老老实实地站在这块土地上,认认真真地写出朝鲜族人的思想、感情、心理,才是我们朝鲜族文学的出路。“靠拢”、“跟随”或“嫁接”韩国文学,那只能是葬送我们自己的文学。     

Voter Registration Services at an Academic Library: A Non-Traditional Reference Service

Academic library reference services are ideally suited to register students to vote. Voter registration services may be more commonly associated with public library settings, but experiences in an academic library at Illinois State University in the autumn of 2004, 2008, and 2012 indicate that we provided a valuable service to our campus community—one that filled a need for the library’s primary clientele of undergraduate students, most ranging in age from 18 to 24 years and eligible to vote for the first time. Aspects of voter registration are similar in style to reference interviews. Providing a non-traditional service is also an effective avenue for outreach to students and community organizations, as well as to state and municipal agencies.
