University non-admittance and anomie: Reconsidering the promise of an egalitarian society

Abstract

The core theme of this article is the emerging tension between the egalitarian discourse that increases the general aspiration of people to become more educated and actual admission constraints. A desire to attend a university and not being allowed to (i.e. non-admittance) is a loss that can potentially result in an anomic condition. Anomie theory gives a sociological explanation for a painful situation in which there is a cultural overemphasis on success combined with structurally limited opportunities. In this study, the focus is on the experiences of prospective students who have been applying to a selective university in Finland without gaining admission. The data consists of 50 personal online narratives. The analysis is presented in accordance with a conceptual typology of individual responses to the conditions of non-admittance. The findings yield important insights regarding university choice, meritocratic selection and formulation of equitable admission policies.

挖掘高校人力资源潜力的关键是分配律的选择,要搞好高校人力资源开发,应选择按贡献律分配方式为主,其它分配律只能作为辅助手段。因为,按贡献律分配方式为主,贡献越大,获得的报酬就越多。因而,可以激发贡献小的教职工迎头追赶,形成竞争氛围。从而,才能真正从分配观念上摈弃“大锅饭”的分配方式,使高校人力资源的潜力真正得到释放。     

父母性别平等态度与孩子性别平等态度、性别角色的关系

本研究以212名中学生及其父母为被试,考察父母的性别角色平等态度与孩子性别角色平等态度、性别角色的关系。结果发现:男生比女生、男生的母亲比女生的母亲更认为男女是不平等的,而男孩的父亲与女孩的父亲在性别角色平等态度上没有差异;父亲、母亲的性别角色平等态度与孩子的性别角色平等态度有显著的正相关;父亲的性别角色平等态度与孩子的性别角色没有显著相关,但母亲的性别角度平等态度与孩子的女性性别角色有显著负相关。     

会展管理中的文化维度

现阶段会展业可以说已经成为全球社会的一个重要元素。随着全球化的经济发展趋势和对会展管理者的日益提升的要求,会展管理者应该意识到文化维度的重要性,对文化多样性有一个深入的了解,并有针对性地运用于会展管理中,以取得事半功倍的效果。本文以此为背景,着重研究了适用于会展管理的两种基本文化价值维度---等级主义/平等主义和个人主义/集体主义,并探寻面对来自不同文化的国际参与者和国际合作者时,会展管理者需要关注和适应的一些问题。     

CULTURAL WORK AND TRANSFORMATIVE ARTS

The model of cultural work undertaken by the Amber Film and Photography Collective represents a radical challenge to the insecure and de-politicised world of cultural work that has long been the norm within the arts. Our paper, which explores the collective's diverse forms of cultural work, including paid labour, collective labour, gift labour and creative labour, argues that cultural work can be imbued with moral commitments and egalitarian ideals. The Amber collective functioned as much like a social movement organisation or a social economy enterprise as a cultural group: it was dedicated to creating alternative cultural networks and a new material foundation for cultural work. We emphasise how these shifting forms and strategies of cultural work underpinned substantial transformations within the Amber group itself.     

关于天义派的"人类均力说"述评

无政府主义是19世纪后半期流行于欧美各国的一股小资产阶级的政治思潮,它在中国近代历史上曾经产生过巨大的影响。在其早期阶段,"人类均力说"是无政府主义天义派平等观的核心,它是刘师培提出的改造社会的理想蓝图。通过分析这一派别的立场、观点,对其做出客观的评价,以期达到理清问题,并能够从中积累经验教训的目的。     

全球减排:方案剖析与关键问题

文章对比研究了人均排放权均等原则、Stern(2008)方案、Srensen(2008)方案、王铮等(2009)方案,研究发现:在人均排放权均等原则下,以1990年为历史排放起点是较为可行的方案,与之匹配需要建立全球碳排放交易市场;Stern(2008)方案虽能很好地控制全球气候变化,但是该方案以损失发展中国家较多利益为代价是不公平的;Srensen(2008)方案较Stern(2008)方案降低了对各国的经济冲击,但2100年各国均接近零排放,方案实施困难较大。目前国际减排方案制定的关键问题在于:发达国家必须比发展中国家承担更多的减排责任,同时必须比发展中国家先行减排。王铮等(2009)的方案在保障全球气候变化得到有效控制的同时,减小对发展中国家经济的影响,是一个相对较为公正的方案。
