地方高校非学历教育培训工作受到学校影响力、地理位置、经济发展水平和交通等因素影响,面临很多挑战和困境,部分高校培训工作进展缓慢,甚至停滞不前。文章根据江苏高校培训情况,分析了地方高校开展非学历教育培训工作的困境,提出"重视顶层设计,制定科学发展规划和管理制度;找准办学定位,发挥学科优势,凝练培训特色;加强课程开发设计,突出培训课程优势和吸引力;重视市场推广和项目营销,打造优质培训品牌,以品牌立市场;构建有效的监督和评价体系,确保实现既定目标"等思考和建议。     

国际气候谈判的困境与出路

国际气候谈判活动是一个复杂而又充满博弈的过程。就目前而言,谈判的困境主要表现为南北矛盾、欧美之争、发展中国家集团内部分化以及集体活动的“搭便车”现象、由于受到气候变化本身因素以及非气候因素的影响。国国际气候谈判变得更加困难。在当前的国际气候政治中,走出气候谈判困境的出路在于坚持公平原则,加强国际合作;民主协商谈判;在联合国机制下维持发展中国家团结;形成具有法律约束力的文件,对各国进行有效地选择性激励.     

论当前地方高校文学类专业本科毕业论文面临的主要困境及对策

本科毕业论文是中国本科教育中一个综合性的实践环节,在人才培养中具有十分重要的作用。新世纪以来,随着中国高等教育大众化时代的来临,地方高校的规模不断扩张,文学类毕业论文面临诸多的困境:观念的误导、条件的制约和就业、实习、考研的冲击。而摆脱这些困境的有效策略:一是加强教育、强化管理,二是改善条件、提供保障,三是注重改革。只有这样,才能改变现状,保证毕业论文的水平,提高人才培养质量。     

Patient and Partner Strategies for Talking about Lifestyle Change Following a Cardiac Event

Heart patients are frequently advised to make lifestyle changes and communication with a romantic partner can help or hinder adoption of heart healthy behaviors. However, talking about lifestyle change can have both positive and negative meanings and this can create dilemmas for couples. We engaged in an interpretive analysis of interviews with 25 patients and 16 partners to identify the ways they managed the meanings of lifestyle change talk. Their communicative strategies included rationing talk, saying it nicely and framing it cooperatively. Each strategy had advantages and disadvantages as well as optimal conditions. We also identified interpretive lenses that shaped the meaning of talk, including legitimacy, patience, emphasizing the positive, moderation, benefits for both people, and perceived compliance. Finally, environmental resources (such as household patterns and communication with the social network) contextualized the meaning of talk. We proposed a model of the interrelated influence of communication, interpretation, and environment on the meanings of talking about lifestyle change.     

Sustaining collaboration: English-as-a-second-language, and content-area teachers

This research is an investigation into English as a Second Language (ESL) and content area teachers’ perceptions of collaboration after they completed a joint professional development program called the Collaborative Teaching Institute (CTI). The overall objective of the study was to identify how CTI and other joint professional development programs for ESL and content area teachers could better support sustained teacher collaboration. The study yielded information on the key actors, opportunities, tensions and conflicts in the collaboration between the two sets of teachers. The researchers also sought to identify specific types of activities that emerged when the teachers were successful in working together.     

Threat Perception and Attitudes of Adolescents Towards Re-Introduced Wild Animals: A qualitative study of young learners from affected regions in Germany

Conservation efforts such as the restoration of European bison or the support of wolf immigration into Germany are often socio-scientifically controversial. In many cases, disputes are based on individuals’ threat perception and attitudes towards the animal involved. The herewith reported study provides qualitative insights into German adolescents’ (n?=?31, M_age?=?16.6 years) attitudes towards animal reintroduction, their threat and coping appraisal about wildlife and their knowledge of local endangered species. We found that students had rather limited knowledge of local endangered species. After Kellert's categories of animal attitudes, the adolescents showed a strong moralistic view on wildlife return. Naturalistic, ecologistic and utilitarian views were also strongly apparent. According to the Protection Motivation Theory, perceived threats could be identified as threats to animals on the one hand and threats to human interests on the other. Such threat perceptions often lead to a dilemma, which made it difficult to decide upon the priorities of wildlife protection versus protection of human interests. Coping mechanism to reduce threats to human interests as mentioned by the participants included restrictions of the animal as well as strategies that focused on responsibility by humans. Regarding coping mechanism to prevent the species’ extinction, participants showed a relatively superficial understanding. Furthermore, we found that participants from regions where wolves are currently immigrating or European bison are being reintroduced showed a more positive understanding of the respective animal. Our findings are discussed in the light of this topic's potential as an example of a real-life socio-scientific issue in classroom discussions.     

Inclusive Educational Practice: Results of an empirical study

This article presents a Norwegian primary school teacher facing the challenge of realising the curriculum's vision of inclusive education. Ann teaches a third‐grade class with 22 pupils among which are pupils with special needs. Two of them are John and Paul. The article focuses on how the teacher deals with these two boys as she, at the same time, approaches the class as a whole. The analysis shows that the teacher's practice can be clustered into four themes. The themes are analysed in light of relevant theoretical concepts situated within the framework of socio‐cultural theory. It appears that the themes have some common characteristic traits and dilemmas that Ann encounters in her daunting work of realising inclusive education.     

Crafting policies about controversial values: How wording disputes manage a group dilemma

Over a six-month time period a school board and its community discussed their district's strategic plan goals about diversity. This article analyzes that discussion within the practical theory frame articulated by Craig. Meeting talk and documents were analyzed to determine how the group's policy deliberation became an argument over what words to have (or avoid) in the strategic plan document. Proposals about document language were framed as technical editing, as inadvertent changing of a policy, and as wordsmithing. In addition to each frame being used, each was also challenged as to its being used to advance some group members' interests at the expense of others. Moving back and forth between using and resisting wording proposal frames, we suggest, is a reasonable way for groups to manage a dilemma they face in crafting policies about controversial, abstract issues. The paper concludes by identifying implications for dilemma theorizing and future study of groups.     

Hypothetical Moral Situations

Abstract:

Hypothetical moral situations are often used by teachers and researchers in order to simulate real‐life moral problems. This article draws some logical distinctions between different types of moral conflict and the different types of question that can be asked about them. It is suggested that this approach must have serious limitations if it is assumed that there is a direct and straightforward connection between hypothetical and real‐life moral judgments, as the former necessarily lack the situational features of the latter.
