“闽南”小考

“闽南”一词最早出现在唐代，宋元明清时期的文献中“闽南”一词出现频繁，但所指的区域范围因时、因人而异，大到福建省，中到福建南部，小到泉州、漳州府，通过对古代文献中的“闽南”指向进行梳理，并对相关问题作简要的考释。指出古文献中的“闽南”有多种含义，既有与今天的“闽南”定义相同之处，也有与今天的“闽南”定义不同之处，我们在引用古代文献中与“闽南”一词相关的资料时，要格外慎重，不要想当然地用今天的“闽南”概念来理解古代的“闽南”。对“闽南”一词进行简要的考释，有助于闽南文化研究的深入发展。

Probation of the term Minnan

The term of Minnan originated first in Tang Dynasty, which appeared frequently in the literatures of Song, Yuan and Qing Dynasties, whereas the rang of its referring region differed personally., extending to Fujian as a whole, or to southern Fujian as a median size, or even only referring to Quanzhou and Zhangzhou Prefectures. This paper, based upon the sorting of connotations of Minnan in ancient literatures,has a brief study upon its pertaining issues. Indicating that： there were a number of meanings of Minnan in ancient literatures, .some of which constitute identical definition as that of today, others differ greatly. Thereby it is in demand to have much prudence when pertained term of Minnan is cited form ancient literatures; people should not understand ancient term of Minan by its today＇s concept in any circumstance The term of Minnan should have a brief probation, whereby to promote Minnan culture research.
