Topic selection planning in TCM journals should consider both confirmation and syndrome differentiation. Confirmation is a general expression based on scientific language and a bridge to connect TCM with other disciplines. Syndrome differentiation is the core for TCM to enhance academic confidence,and both the starting and ending point of constructing the discourse system of TCM. Neither should be emphasized at the expense of the other.
