Great changes took place on the standards of the merit system in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,and one of its important performances was the establishment of the age and service seniority standard.Although the age and service seniority standard has certain contradictory with the achievements and the conduct standard,it could be able to adapt the function which the bureaucrat makes,so three standards gradually moved towards the fusion.The change had the profound influence on the standards of the merit system of Tang Dynasty.
