实践、理论、比较:翻译教学的几个重要环节

在翻译教学中有必要强调一下实践、理论和比较几个环节的重要性及其关系问题。在翻译教学中 ,实践使人发现存在的问题 ,向理论寻求指导 ,同时也检验理论的正确程度 ;理论是从实践中总结出来的规律 ,是对实践的概括 ;没有比较便没有鉴别 ,让学生把英语和汉语进行对比 ,在习作之间进行比较 ,并拿范文与习作进行比较 ,之后教师进行讲解并点评 ,在比较中找出规律。这几个环节相辅相成 ,对提高翻译教学质量十分有益

Practice, theory and comparison: some key factors in the teaching of translation

This article deals with the three key factors and the relationship between them in the teaching of translation. It is a duty for the teacher to provide practice for the students. Practice promotes better understanding, and makes it possible to seek guidance from theory. Practice cultivates the students' interest in theories, and at the same time, checks the correctness of theories. Theories stem from practice and make a generalization of practice. Comparison makes differentiation. Comparisons between English and Chinese, between the students' translation, and between the students' work and the teacher's given translation should be made. The students' merits and demerits can clearly be found out during the process. Then the teacher makes comments. The three key factors work jointly to promote the quality of the translation teaching.
