春秋时期的嬖臣

春秋时期，国君们与世卿争夺权力的斗争十分激烈。逐渐失势的国君利用各种力量与强势的世卿抗衡，嬖臣是国君为了维护君权所依赖的重要力量之一。嬖臣的出身来源比较复杂，社会地位较低，依附于君主。他们的出现，是周代宗法制和分封制松动乃至混乱的结果，也是下层社会成员向上流动的表现。嬖臣自身的局限性和国君力量的孱弱，最终导致他们的失败。

On the Favorite Subjects in the Spring and Autumn Period

In the Spring and Autumn Period, the struggle between monarchs and aristocrat officials was very fierce. Monarchs who had gradually lost their power contended with powerful aristocrat officials by means of all kinds of forces, favorite subjects are one of the important forces they depended on. Favorite subjects attached themselves to monarchs because of their lower social status. Their emergence is the result of a loose and confused feudal system, the patriarchal clan system and a trend of social move from the lower society to the higher. The weak power of monarchs and the limitation of favorite subjects eventually lead to their failure.
