中国古代农民战争大多带浓厚的宗教色彩,但都以失败而告终。东汉末年由张角领导的黄巾起义是一个十分典型的范例,它使我们清楚地认识到,宗教作为一种社会意识形态,无论以何种形式出现都是对客观现实世界的虚幻的歪曲的反映,带有欺骗性,麻痹性,这就是宗教作为唯心主义世界观的本质。只有认清这个道理,才能正确评判宗教在农民战争的地位和作用。

On the Relationship between Huangjin Uprising and Religion

The Chinese peasant uprising in the ancient time mostly had some religious atmosphere and they all ended in failure.The Huangjin uprising launched by Zhangjiao during the last several years of Dong Han period is a typical example. The failure of uprising makes us know that as a social ideology,religion is deceptive and benumbing.No matter what kind of form it is in,religion is the unreal and incorrect reflection of the reality,that is the essence of religion,an idealist world out- look.Only realizing this principle clearly can we comment the position and role of religion in the peasant uprisings.
