| Abstract: | Sexism penetrates all aspects of social life, including languages. The present article analyzes such a phenomenon in both English and Chinese proverbs, attempts to probes into the causes of sexism from the sociolinguistic perspective, and then discusses the trend of sexism in the English and Chinese proverbs. |
