The View of Time in Distance Education: From the Point of View of Anthropology

By studying the history of the concept of time, and referencing the research of time in Educational Anthropology, the following conclusion may be induced: distance education created a new time modality called "virtual time" by media-technology. It provides the possibility for the distant teachers and learners to overcome the time distance between them. But at the same time, it produces other difficulties for the communication between teachers and learners.
