Home Tutoring: a Practical Problem at the Edge of Teaching Theory

The extension of education from the school to the family doesn't only mean the homework. Now home tutoring has become the important part of the learning activity of primary and middle school students and the college students' teaching practice, but no theoretical research bordering the education science has been made into it. In most cases, home tutoring seeks after its utilitarian objective without boosting the competence education and the innovative education. Home tutoring which derives from the exam-oriented education is, with the empirical method, efficiently demonstrating the rigid way of training elite, strengthening the function of subject teaching as a artificial stifling machine, and as a result hinders the educational reform and development. So it is time to walk out of the misuse of home tutoring and establish a value trend compatible with the spirit of the times.
