Statistics indicate that in the world every year the sports industry creates a profit of over 400 billion US dollars,and the profit increases by 20% every year. In our country the sports industry,encouraged by the national policy,has made great achievements in the past 30 years or so,and the sports industry has become a new economic growing aspect of our country,and become an important component in the tertiary industry. This article,through analyzing and studying the American sports industry,points out that the development of the sports industry in our country is left far behind,and suggests the strategies for the development of the sports industry in our country by referring to the six aspects of the policy,the main body industry,the correlation industry development,the sports population,the sports fund collection and the cultivation of athletes.
