Hubert H. Humphrey's 1948 civil rights speech
Authors:L Patrick Devlin
Institution:University of Rhode Island
Abstract:Samuel Beckett rejects conventional forms because they are predictable and a reader or viewer of his plays may consider them formless. However, Beckett's plays have strong and clear internal relationships that invite the observer to participate in the making of them. But if the reader or viewer of Beckett's works expects to grapple with his art, he must alter his conceptions and expectations of the form of plays.
