传统文化中的自大意识及其对我国近代化进程的影响

思维的理性化是近代化的关键。我国比较封闭的地形、文化的悠久、学术在东方的长期领先、庞大的人口数量和丰富的自然资源等因素,使中国传统文化中存在着浓厚的自大意识。1840年以后,自大意识使人们无法在近代国际社会中准确地自我定位,它表现为将“制夷”列为近代化的目的,将中国物产神圣化,还表现在政治运作中强烈的事功欲望与政治豪赌现象。自大意识对近代化产生了严重的阻滞作用:它使有关近代化的信息闭塞并失真,多次坐失近代化的良机,产生了盲目排外行为。自大意识是我们建设现代化事业所必须排除的文化障碍。

The Self-Important Consciousness in Chinese Traditional Culture and Its Influence on Her Modernization

The rationalization of thinking is a key to modernization.Factors such as sealed terrain,long-history culture,long-time leading position in the academics of the east,large population and rich natural resources have resulted in the existence of the strong self-important consciousness in Chinese traditional culture.Since the year of 1840,the self-important consciousness has made the older generation unable to find their right position in the modern international societies.It can be seen clearly when they set "overmastering the minority" as one of the goals of modernization,they make Chinese products sacred and have wrong idea of meritorious service desire and political bold gambling.The self-important consciousness has had the serious retardation to the modernization,causing the closing up of information and distortion of information of modernization,losing lots of good opportunities,taking the harmful and useless shortcut and blindly boycotting everything abroad,thus providing the refuge shelter for opportunists.In brief,the self-important consciousness is a culture barrier to the construction of the modernization,which we must eliminated.
