图书市场目前的状况与我们的对策

书价上涨幅度与高校图书经费的增加不成比例，90年代以后，图书馆新书入藏量锐减。新华书店预订书目不能完全反映国内各种类型出版社新书状况。这些都为图书馆界采购带来困难。增加经费，扩大采购渠道，少花钱，多买书，买好书，是目前图书馆缓解经费紧缺与读者剧增矛盾惟一的好办法。

Current Condition of the Book Market and Our Response to It

The rapid rise in book prices is considerably disproportionate to the increase in any university library's investment in new books. This has caused a drastic decrease in the number of books annually collected by the library. A university library also has to cope with the problem of incomplete information provided by the Xinhua Bookstore, whose new book list fails to cover all the new books published by various types of publishing houses nation wide. Both these pose difficulty for the library's procurement of books. To alleviate the conflict between the library's tight budget and the dramatic increase in the number of readers, libraries have to find new ways to raise fund, to discover new channels for the procurement of books, and to take advantage of discount arrangements so as to buy more and better books with less spending.
