On Phenomena of Lexical Conflict between English and Chinese

Phenomena of lexical conflict widely exist between English and Chinese, which easily lead to cases such as ambiguity, misunderstanding, as well as pragmatic failures for language learners in cross - cultural communication. Tak- ing vocabularies of animals, plants and colors as examples, the author explored the language phenomena, and analyzed the cultural differences between English and Chinese, in order to improve the cultural sensitivity of language learners and succeed in cross -cultural communication.
