Exploration and Development in the Falling Tide Fictions on Wars of Revolutionary History of the 1990s

Literary creation on military themes in the 1990s clearly shows a trend of falling tide. However, as an important integral part of the genre, fictions on wars of revolutionary history do not stop some writers from carrying on their rewarding exploration into aspects such as heroism, war and humanitarianism, and art, whose specific representations lie in: a shift in the way of expression of heroism and its venue; the digging up of secular elements in heroes; the changes of the portrayed burdened with humanitarian musings and exploration into their philosophical connotations; and the strengthening of documentation. All these efforts have contributed to the uplifting of this genre to a certain degree, thus promoting the development of contemporary literature on military themes.
