There are many knight--errant images in the world of Chinese classical fictions; in particular, the image of Lu Zhishen in Heroes of the Marshes has special luster. He inherited the spirit of getting rid of the bullies and bringing peace to good people and dashing ahead regardless of one＇s safety from the proceeding knights--errant, but his emprise goes without the idea of ＂A true man is ready to die a loyal death for those who know the worth of him＂ and the consciousness of personal being overwhelmed with gratitude, which makes his image more sincere and magnanimous. Furthermore, Lu Zhishen is good--hearted and full of human touch, he has the liberty spirit which is absent in his after knights--errant and surpasses the limitations of extremeness and bloodthirsty which other knights-- errant in Heroes of the Marshes have. Therefore, Lu Zhishen is the most glorious and the most per- fect knight--errant in the world of Chinese classical fictions by virtue of his special charm and heart quaking infection.
