"右文说"源流、价值考

“右文说”是一种从声旁推测字的意义的注释方法，它的因“声”求“义”使人们看到形声字的声旁除了标音之外，还可以为字义的解释和来源作出提示，为字的形、声、义的研究提供了新思路，但长期以来语言学界大多忽视了这一点，本文拟从该角度对“右文说”的价值作新的认识

A textual research into the origin, schools and value of the youwen theory

The youwen theory refers to the way of annotation in which people guess at the meaning of a Chinese character from its pronunciation radical. This method enables people to believe that the pronunciation radical also functions as a meaning and etymological indicator besides suggesting its pronunciation. This new way of researching into the shape, pronunciation and meaning of Chinese characters, however, has been largely neglected and it is to this topic this paper approaches from new viewpoints.
